How di i open a nilfisk multi 30 to access the motor ?


nilfisk --- very difficult its easier to contact the agent and just get a replacement ,sounds like the aluminium rotor vanes have broke up and if this is the case then a replacement motor is easier ,i have taken these motors apart and they are a nightmare in the end it was either a replacement motor for a terrific cost or another car vacumn cleaner ,the later was the cheaper option

How to fit front wheel bearings Which brand to use for quality


If the car is front wheel drive a puller is required to dismantle the hub a rather involved job better left to a mechanic .If rear wheel drive do the following. ( Applies to front wheel drive also.) Chock rear wheels,loosen front wheel nuts, jack up car, fit safety stands,remove wheel , remove grease cap from axle. remove split pin or locking nut on axle ,Remove hub, with a punch drive out the grease seal ,the tapered cone bearings can now be removed, the 2 bearing cups still in the housing will have to be pressed out ,all old grease has to be cleaned out. the new cones must be repacked with high temp bearing grease . tap in the seal with the lip facing inwards , slide on the hub fit the outer cone to the axle , the spacer and nut goes on next, tighten the nut to seat the bearings , spin the hub make sure its free to spin, back off the nut one eighth of a turn fit a new split pin or lock tab. fit grease cap and road wheel.

How do i replace spedometer cable ?


undo the cable fitting at the gear box and pull out the inner cable . push the new cable up into the outer case and give it a bit of a turn to engage it in the speedo head then reattach to the gear box.

This is my first Dually, a 91 Ford F350. My question is , how are the rear tires removed in order, to get to the disc brakes?


twilight sta, There are a few issues special to this problem. Jack up the vehicle, support the axle with jack stands and remove the lug nuts. Now the inner wheel may have a valve extender that is sometimes connected to the outer wheel by a bracket. If there is then place the bracket aside so the outer wheel can be removed. There may be a spacer in between the two wheels, remove this and set aside so it can be reused. Remove the inner wheel. When putting the wheels back on there may be a small protrusion on the inner rim that fits into a small hole in the outer rim, be sure that they line up properly. Also when you are putting the outer wheel on be sure that the valve stem are 180 degrees off from each other. In other words, the valve stems must be opposite from each other. Sometimes there are no valve extenders, brackets or spacers and if this is the case then they wont have to dealt with. Good luck with this.

Need to replace inner tie rod on a 1998 ford ranger two wheel drive , driver side . engine size is 2.5. do i have to take outer tie rod off as well?


webbraymond2, Yes, you have to remove the outer tie to access the inner tie rod. When you do this, count the rotations of the tie rod as this will have to be replaced when the new inner tie rod is installed. Counting the rotations will allow you to put the outer tie rod close to where it was when you started the job. You are changing the toe setting when you have to replace either the inner or outer tie rod. You need to access and remove the jamb nut and boot before you can access the inner tie rod and this is why the outer needs to be removed first. A wheel alignment is advised after you finish the job. Packing the wheel bearings on a 98 for Taurus


Just remove the wheel/tire, then remove the dust cap, remove the cotter pin and then remove the nut that holds the brake drum/hub assembly onto the spindle. Then remove the grease seal on the backside of the hub and remove the bearing. Wipe them off, inspect them for discoloration and flaking of the rollers, if good then just pack new grease into the bearings and re-install the bearing into the hub and install a new grease seal, then place the hub/drum back on the spindle and install the outer bearing and the nut, tighten to spec and install the outer nut cotter pin keeper thingy. bend the cotter pin and cut off the excess so the dust cap will fit on and tap it into place. Re-install wheel/tire and torque lugs to spec.

Hi there, I have a few steps here to help you out:
  • With your hand brake ON, loosen the wheel bolts to hand tight, jack up front wheel, chock back wheels, and put axle stands/blocks in place (just in case) .
  • Remove wheel. Disconnect pad wear wire, it pulls out of the connector.
  • Remove lower caliper bolt (at the back of caliper at the bottom), need a 13mm ring spanner for head of bolt and 17mm to stop it spinning
  • Use a screw driver between the back of the outer pad and the caliper to raise the caliper back away from the back of outer pad. Pivot caliper upwards to rest on top of wheel disc (good idea to tie it up with some wire) .
  • Remove and discard old pads , clean out with wire brush and soft brush , don't breath in to much of the dust its nasty.
  • Fit new pads (remember pad wear sensor on inside pad), make sure that the pads are in contact with the disc , and the top of them sitting flush with the rim of the disc, don't force them into this position they should naturally sit there.
  • Lower caliper down into position, you may need to push back the piston further in order to make room for the new pads , do this with you hands or a small piece of timber. Keep an eye on the brake fluid reservoir , your pushing fluid back in so if its over full it may spill over. Refit lower caliper bolt (Renault say to replace this each time), and tighten. Reconnect pad wear sensor.
  • Pump brake pedal until normal brake pressure returns.
  • Remove axle stand/blocks, refit wheel and bolts, lower jack and tighten up wheel bolts.

How to remove front rotor


remove front wheel, undo the retaining bolts from the brake caliper and remove it, do not undo the fluid line that runs to the caliper or you will have to bleed the brakes, just tie the caliper up under the guard somewhere
remove the metal cap from the middle of the rotor, remove the retaining pin from the nut and remove the wheel bearing from the stub axle, the rotor should now be free to remove from the car.
fit the new rotor, grease the bearings if required and tighten to remove any slop in the rotor, once that is done you can put the retaining pin back in place.
You may have to press the caliper piston in to get enough clearance to fit the brake pads over the new rotor, this can be done with a "G" clamp, just remove the outer pad, place a small piece of wood over the face of the inner pad where the "G" clamp is going to sit to protect the pad and wind the clamp to compress the piston, replace the outer pad and fit back into the caliper before you put the caliper over the rotor and bolt it on
