My 1996 aura tl 2.5 feels like the brakes are applied around 20 to 30 mmph when I let off the gas pedal please advise me if I need to get a new transmission. Also the abs light stays on at all times

Iwould look at the front brakes one or bolth calipars could be sticking probably has to do with the abs problem witch has to do with the transmission problem Youshould have a part called the inter lock switch checked its on the side of the transmission its hooked to the gear shift but the transmission needs to know when the brakes are being applyed so it effects bolth and the computer dosen;t know what to do when this switch is bad so you have brake and transmission problems at the sametime

46re trans. wont stay in lockout ,only sometimes when it does go in it stays in until you release the accelerator.when the accelerator is reapplied it goes in every time but comes out,in out in out???...

There is a solenoid in the transmission that controlls that. You may just need a transmission fluid and filter change. But the filter sometimes gets sticky if the pressure gets low in the transmission. Check to make sure all your connectors are clean and tight, it is an electronic transmission. Another thing that can wreak havoc with that is the brake switch. If it's worn out the lockout will act irratic and not function normally as will the cruis control. Start with the fluid and filter and then go to the brake light switch. If those don't work. Try a power flush on the the tranny. It may just need the solenoid, but if one is going, change them all. Good luck.

Brake light stays on just happened 143000 miles

Check your brake switch as it could be faulty hence causing a close circuit which in turn causes the brake light to stay on.It is normally located at the top of the brake pedal.Hope this helps.

Tail Lights stay on all the time.

under the dashboard on the drivers side. look at the brake pedal lever. there should be a switch attached. push switch in and twist to remove. then pull the button as far out as it will go. while holding brake pedal down reinstall switch. then pull pedal up to top. this will reset the brake light switch. if they stay on still, then just replace the brake light switch.

Transmission

Brake can stay on for a couple of reason

1- iff someone add power steering liquid in brake system

2- Brake caliper seal broken

3- Brake hose spliting inside and brake stay on

4- Car did't move for a long time and rust installed in brake

5- transmission malfunction

'S' Light, Speedometer, and Brake light not working properly

On the brake light does not turn-off, you may want to check the brake switch located at the brake padel. It may have 2 or 3 wire switch so please ensure you buy the right one for replacement.

On the speedometer issue, I guess the speed sensor is faulty. It is located on top of the transmission unit, back side of the engine/transmission.
