SOURCE: no bus

As far as the first question, can you get a PCM with the same number, yes.

Can you discribe what happened prior to the "no bus" message?

He may have locked up the pin sequence. You might need to buy a new switch not that exspensive. Stay away from the dealership or it will be.

If you're not hearing a click from the starter check for a starter relay. May be burned out! DO you hear the fuel pump kick in when you turn the key on? If not something might have triggered your security system and locked you out!

I've lost my keys to my 2004 Chrysler Sebring. Is there anyway to starty car without it?

No. The key has a chip in it and no other key will work. You have two choices, both are expensive.

First is have your Sebring towed to your dealer, they will look up you VIN and cut two new keys and then program them to your car.

The second (and this may be a little cheaper) is to find a local locksmith in your area, that can cut Chrysler keys, to come to your car, cut two new keys and then program them to your car.

Can't offer an accurate price but I would imaging the dealer cost will be in the $300 range (plus towing). Need to call around and get prices.

07 chrysler sebring won't crank no start everything works but radio don't turn on? My car has a chip in order for it to start..did that nothing? ?? Please help me

What chip are you talking about ? The key transponder chip ? This is part of the -anti-theft system ! If you replace the chip it has to be progammed or it won't work, is the theft light lit on the instrument cluster ? When you turn the key to the start position nothing happens , starter does not engage an spin the engine ? If this is the problem your having your best bet is take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop or have an automotive locksmith check it out .

My car has the round red light showing in the panel box. It will not start. The manuel says something about trunk circuit.

I have experienced this before, In my case the the RF (Radio Frequency) chip in the key had failed and when this happens the car is essentially locking its self from staying running; its a security feature. In my case the vehicle would start and then in roughly 2-5 seconds would shut off and the alarm light would flash (far as i know the round red light on the dash) You need a new key (NOT the key-less remote ) and then the key must be reprogrammed at a capable establishment such as a dealership or locksmith. To test if this is your issue try using the spare key, if you have one. If it starts and remains running using the spare then you know your main key is bad. Once again this may or may not be your problem, in my experience it was the key. On a side note its not very cheap to replace a key, and there are 2 different variations of the keys for your vehicle (04 Chrysler Sebring Based on your info we pretty much have the same vehicle; I have the 2.4l) The dealership referred to them as the grey and black version. Hope this Helps.

1997 Chrysler Sebring starts everytime but shuts off after five seconds everytime. Getting fuel and spark. What could be causing the shutdown?

It sounds like you computer system has gone into "Theft Protect Mode". There is most likely a problem with your security system and the computer "thinks" that the vehicle is being stolen. This can be due to the wrong key being used, or it could be a bad ignition switch or theft module. I would recommend having it diagnosed professionally. It would be very difficult to diagnose the problem without the required computer diagnostic equipment. If any of the parts of the security system are defective, the computer will have to be reprogrammed when they are replaced.

I would, however try a different key in the ignition if you have more than one - before having it towed to a repair facility. If another key works, you will only need to get a replacement key and have it programmed for your car.

1999 Chrysler 300M. Planning on changing out main computer. Would I need to have a new key made?, and is it possible to reprogram the computer and what interfaces are necessary to do it

you would have to reprogram the new key or computer to the same code or frequency aswell as the milage.
call a local locksmith and ask if they reprogram chippped car keys. Runs you from $50 - $150
the dealer would charge much more.....
it takes a special interface computer and software to o this. very expensive.

The key in my 2007 Chevy Cobalt broke off in the ignition. I need to replace the ignition but was told the key had a chip in it and the car would have to be reprogrammed to replace the ignition is this...

yes. I would use the dealer or a shop that knows your GM car and has the tools to do the job. A locksmith may be able to remove the key, that way you may not need to replace everything.

My 2005 town and country alarm is activated and will not allow us to start the van. how do we dis alarm the alarm system

Before removing your factory alarm call a locksmith and ask him if can reprogram your car key. Is most likely your car computer no longer recognize your key I know this sounds weird but most cars this days have a chip on the key it self whit the car vin number and some other information. Is an anti theft feature. If the computer do not recognize your key it wont let you start the car even if you are able to turn the key.
