Check whether the chip still inside the key fob, possible lost on any time dropped,or if you were putting the fob on any electric machine ( washing machine, micro wave, fridge, tv etc lost memo and need to get reset.

Wont crank or fire

the engine key would have have the program for the immobiliser where as a door key won't
you may have to have a fob key cut to the door key and then have it programmed to the immobiliser.

Fob key problems

You need to have the spare reprogrammed as it has an immobiliser chip that sends a signal to the cars ecu so if the ecu doesn't recognise the chip the engine won't start.

Toyota SR 2006 Remote opens car but wont allow car start with key in ignition. Looks like immobiliser not recognising FOB. How can we check that the immobile does recognise the FOB on the key

Dealer only when dealing with this sort of problem as software is too expensive ,or maybe a auto locksmith may have the relevant programme for this model ,try this trick it works on renaults ,open and close the car three times with the fob then on the last opening put the key in within 10 secs and try to start the car ,sometimes it works?? if your lucky

Tried to open car with fob but wouldnot open so used key which let me in but did not turn off the immobiliser so car wont start. Only drivers door will open and lock how do i get immobiliser to turn off...

The RCDLR (remote control door lock receiver) could have failed, or the battery in your key fob is dead. The only way to get the immobilizer off is to use the key fob.

1998 kia sportage wont start.

We fixed the problem.Look in the fuse box on right hand side under steering wheel near door and check your fuses. We had a blown fuse 3rd down from top, number 15 with stop on it.Changed the fuse and immobilizer works again. Everything going again and radio no longer cutting out. Hope this works for you. Good luck.
