SOURCE: engine burning oil no oil leak little smoke

oil leaks are hard to identify by the blue smoke that you used to see. most of this smoke is burned up by the catalytic converter. at least until all of that oil plugs the converter up. you can tell if your burning oil by removing the spark plugs, and checking their appearance against diagnostic charts redily available on the internet. oil burning will leave a distinctive residue.

SOURCE: my 1995 nissan pickup is ticking and smoking from

if its burning oil then you could have a pcv valve problem(plugged) and changing it could fix it.the other things are bad rings, bad valve guides or valve seals.it could also be a cracked head or a bad head gasket leak by the oil drain passages and combustion chamber drawing in oil and burning.the ticking noise is either to thin of oil(dirty) by not changing it frequently low oil level or worn engine components that will need repair.

Just replaced valve covers on Nissan Maxima 2002 due to misfire. Now it smokes and burns oil every start? What's should I do .

If is is only smoking when you first start it up. Most likely the valve guide seals, oil is leaking into the cylinders and smoking when you start it up.

Nissan maxima 2000. Oil dipstick level shows too high. Regular oil changes done and filter with proper amount added. White smoke alerted me to recheck things. Only thing I found was dipstick shows oil

If the oil level goes up, something has to be leaking into the engine oil pan.
That would either be gasoline from the injectors or coolant from the radiator. If you are not adding coolant, it could be a leaking injector.

When my nissan maxima 2005 is runnig little white smoke is coming from tail pipe

If you have never experience the white smoke before and I am under the assumption that you are the original owner, and depending on your service record of changing the oil as scheduled then the only conclusion I can come up with is the following. You have a very high mileage vehicle and there is a little oil burning. Secondly will be there is a crack in which cooling liquid is entering the engine and making that smoke like that. Good Luck!

My 93 maxima got no power an smoke started to come out the tail end.

The best test is a compression test.
Blue smoke means it's burning oil, due to worn out piston rings.
White smoke means it's mixing antifreeze and oil due to a bad head gasket or cracked head or block.

Changed spark plugs on my 03 maxima and notices that one of the spark plugs was soaked in oil . what would couse this .

it shows that the piston rings of that cylinder are weak and they cant hold the lubricating oil below the burning chamber and oil is burning with gasoline. Check the smoke from the exhaust pressing gas paddle full, if a lot of white smoke appears, u need to replace the piston rings, if the smoke is negligable, u can enjoy another 10,000 kms without any problem but with a little care of not pressing gas paddle in smaller gears, I hope this will be helpful.

White smoke indicates water being burned. Also the ticking means your loosing oil. You most likely have a blown head gasket.
