Question about Cars & Trucks
I have a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria 4.6 liter, I recently bought a transmission from the local pull and pay and had it install at a licensed mechanic. and when I went to pick a car up from the shop the engine start to spuder and had no power and before I took it to the mechanic I never had a problem with the engine.. so my question is how to fix a engine that sounds like it needs a really bad tune up even though I change the spark plugs and wires. if you don't press the gas engine runs fine and as soon as you give it gas is start to run rough with less power.. someone please help me with this problem Thanks

Are you sure it's bad gas causing the problem? It could be a faulty idle sensor or more than likely the coolant sensor near the thermostat housing malfunctioning. It could be sending the wrong signal to the pcm(power control module) causing the timing to be too far advanced thus causing the low speed chugging & hard starting. Good luck!

Coils and wires are the most likely culprits as they never get replaced hardly ever. You cant really test a coil, you can check for resistance on the plug wires but that doesnt tell you if the insulation is bad on them.
