check the radio stores as you may be able to get a radio harness to connect the aftermarket radio to the factory wiring harness so you won`t have to cut and splice, its just a plug and go.
Hi there. Go into your nearest Ford main dealer. They will happily GIVE you a copy of the wiring scematics for your car now it is over 10 years old. They did when I changed the immobiliser.
It is best to buy a connector pigtail for Ford, but you can wire directly using the below color code for the factory wiring. use the color code from the pioneer to match to the factory wires. If you have more questions, please reply.

safest and easiest way is with a spark tester. looks like a spark ply with a clip built onto it. clip to metal ground and hook coil wire or spark plug wire over the end and crank engine over. will spark loudly and visibly is spark is adequate. more accurate and less dangerous than any other way. buy on at your local auto parts store. that are not very expensive.
To make this installation you are going to need a wiring schematic for that vehicle, your local Ford dealer should supply that for you if talk nicely to them and they have not purged that book from their inventory

did you use a converter plug set for your factory wiring or did you do the siring your self. If you used a factory plug converter then your radio is probably bad, if you did the wiring yourself then check your splices and get a diagram for the wirring before you send the radio back. If you want a easy way to wire the radio in correctly the first time go to cruthfield and buy the converter cable for your radio and vehicle. Its $10 and saves you a lot of time an energy.
