Nissan maxima hood will not close, stay latched. It moves just not staying latched. yes I tried WD40, flat head screwdriver, hammer, checked cables, springs,etc


Where the hinges hold the hood on may have moved and is out of align,look there and see if hinges look like they have and check screw,the hole in center may not be lined up,you will have to loose hinges and realign.Also check where the hood shuts,the part on vehicle where hood piece goes into,

The hood want stay up, it was repaced but still want stay open.


Did you replace hood struts or entire hood? Sounds like hood struts need replaced.

Have a 2007 Impala. Hood open light is staying on but the hood is closed and latched...Any ideas?

HOOD OPEN LIGHT STAYS ON. HAVE ALREADY REPLACED HOOD SWITCH.


With the hood open have someone push the switch manually as if the hood is closed and see if the light goes out. If it does the switch is out of adjustment. Readjust the switch and you will be done. If it stays on when doing this you have to check the wiring for a pinched wire.

GAS-CHARGED HOOD STRUTs are fitted to these cars and the hood should stay up , unless these are faulty
