First you did not mention your car brand. Anyhow its not seem ens a big problem.what i understand is your car advances not working properly & secondly your car ignition coil(s) or both plug cods & coils.
in last your car can not maintaining low rpm it might be from throttle body idling switch or main butterfly ..... or might be your car Tappet sating out or some head valves are jam ..do a proper check from codified mechanic ..... this is a basic of your car, now if you need any further help you can mail me on email@example.com... best of luck....

i have came across simler problems in the past so im going to give you a list of four main suspects number 1; a broken or pereshed vacuum hose at the trottle body or inlet manifold.2 a blocked injector 3 a fuel injection system fault 4 a disconnected /leaking or perished crankcase ventilation hose. Before you try any of these by a can of fuel cleaner and run it through your system remember a small piece of dirt half the size of grain of salt is enough to cause this problem good luck.adrian

I know you mentioned the EGR valve has been replaced, but you may have a bad 'new' part. I know the car is electronic, but has anyone checked its ignition timing (timing belt been looked at, I know it only has 77k on it). Is the fuel pressure regulator OK and it vacumm supply?
