SOURCE: timing belt or chain

Ummmm woahhh hold up here...every 2.7 litre V6 i've been associated with had timing CHAINS. The chains ran the water pump and dual over head camshafts.
The 2.7l engine was manufactured by Mitsubishi for Chrysler and had an internal water pump with defective seals that allowed coolant to leak & mix with the oil causing severe sludging problems and eventual engine FAILURE...This has been a nightmare for Chrysler AND OWNERS !
MANY owners have contacted ISG Impartial Services Group 1-(866)332-3746 for a settlement with Chrysler
Attached is a cutaway view of the 2.7 litre, and as you can clearly see it is chain driven.
I've been a MOPAR enthusiast all my life...sadly, this engine was one of the worst to ever hit the streets.
Good luck Doug...i hope this helps.

SOURCE: Can't find the timing marks on '97 Chrysler Sebring 2.5L V6

Crank mark is obvious but cam marks arent. There are two notches in the tin timing covers behind the cam gears. At about the 2 oclock positions

SOURCE: In my 2004 chrysler sebring

If there is no spark that means either the spark plugs are faulty or the coil pack is faulty. The spark plugs receive power from coil pack to spark. You can check out for 12 volt on coil pack.If there is 12 volt on the coil pack then the spark plugs are faulty and needs replacement but if the coil pack does not show exact 12 volt that ignition coils needs replacement. But as you mentioned that you replaced the water pump then this indicates that if the timing is not set right for timing belt then this can also be the cause of no spark, other possibility is faulty crankshaft sensor or loose connected sensor. It has to be checked.because all this parts are removed while replacing the water pump this can be the possibility that misalignment is cause of no spark. But if you are confirmed that all parts properly fitted and the timing belt timing is set exactly then the spark plugs or coil packs are faulty.Check with multimeter to confirm the fault. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

How I line my timing chain marks on a 2002 Dodge intrepid 2.7 litter

The timing is set by aligning the marks on the camshaft gears and the crankshaft gear with colored links on the chain. See the included link for guidance (it's for a Sebring, but the information is the same for an Intrepid). Be aware that rotating the engine after initial timing will change the relationship of the colored links with the gears. This is OK, just BE SURE THAT THEY ARE ALIGNED when the chain is INITIALLY installed. Chrysler Sebring Concorde 300 2 7L timing replacement Cloyes kit 9 0397SA

Timing chain

Timing belt I suppose, Take the top cover of the motor then line up the timing mark on the flywheel.Your marks should be lavel with the head on each side or at the bottom of the top gear. If pointing down it should match the mark on the crankshaft which shoul be in the up possiton.

I just put a timimg chain an water pump in a 2001 chrysler sebring 2.7 liter engine an it will back firer at start up an not run .no matter how many times i check timing marks everytime it seems to no

I just recently experienced the same problem. The timing is 180 degrees out. Unfortunately the only way to correct it is to take the engine apart again. Set the right hand camshaft to TDC by using the marks on the timing gear for that bank. The left will follow to the degree it can although you will have to manually hold the cam in position when you put the timing gear back on. Now you can remove the timing chain. The crank TDC indicator may not be right on but it will be close. Rotate the crank CW one revolution to the point the TDC marks are lined up. Now install the timing chain according to the instructions. The timing gears on the camshafts will only go on one way as the bolt holes are slightly off the extreme diameter of the gear. If you put the chain back on making sure that all the marks are proper, she'll fire on the second cylinder up. Not a fun job I know, but when everything works right, you do get a sense of satisfaction.
