I would suggest taking it to AutoZone or O'Reilly Auto Parts to get the check engine code and they can tell you why it's on. They can usually point you in a direction to go for the repair.

First off if you haven't already go to your local autozone. They can scan for the trouble codes that are causing the engine light to come on. Once you have those trouble codes report them back here and I can assist you in narrowing down the possibilities.

code system to lean. clean the throttle body especially were the throttle plate sits at idle,use a tooth brush and carb cleaner.dirty throttle bodys cause that code and many others.also cause iratic idle and/or stalling.
