i think what you are talking about is the front differential. you will wanna put gear oil in it. the correct weight would be found in your manual.

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week's the board that the bulbs plug's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!

examine, the box for fuse, normally inside of the vehicle, They have name for any circuit. In front of the vehicle is for mayor fuse, a.c.+fan, etc.

How to replace gear shift light for Chevy tahoe

Take out cluster and replace light. you might have to pole off the dash and steering wheel. be careful of the air bags.

My chevy tahoe shift indicator comes from reverse 2 drive and the reverse lights still be on for a few seconds trying to find the location of thee shift indicator relay

their is no relay only a range switch which is located on the drivers side of the trans. sandwiched behind the shift cable lever, it has two plugs that plug into the rear of it, these switches are susceptible to water intrusion, I have replaced many of them

check to see if tail lights work. if not, replace fuse for tail lights. this should fix it

a fuse, would be my first guess, wire connections next both at the fuse box and dash. But Care there are a few fuses that could play a part.

4 Wheel drive not functional

There is a TSB on this problem: TSB #03-04-21-001C

Subject:4WD Switch Indicator Lights Flashing, 4WD Inoperative, DTCs C0327, P0500, P0836, P1875 Set (Replace Encoder Motor Sensor, Reprogram TCCM, Inspect Front Drive Axle Engagement Sleeve for Damage/Repair) #03-04-21-001D - (12/04/2003)

Models:2003 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe
2003 GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL
with 4WD and Electric Shift or Active Transfer Case (RPO NP1 or NP8)
You can also try removing the TREC fuse (engine fuse box) and reinstall after 30 seconds. Look up the TSB number I gave you and you'll find alot more information.
