After a long drive on vacation in a heavy rain, the check engine, VSC, and Trac Off lights came on and stayed on. Autozone says the codes are P0015 and P0017. any ideas?

Year/make/model??? P0015 is a camshaft position sensor code and P0017 is a crankshaft position sensor code ( generically ). The computer most likely disabled the traction/Vsc as a safety related operation. It is possible the heavy rain may have caused an electrical issue within the wiring/sensors. I would suggest having the codes cleared and continue driving and monitor the engine light to see if these codes return. Ir they do, further diagnostics will be required

Vw tdi problems

no,without being offensive, you played with the remote key, without knowing,in your pocket, pushing against something,in your coat, someone sit on it.....but the rain sensor really,is out of power with the key off,so can never give trouble, powered over the 51 by positive, and signaled on the negative,so never with power off, there can be a disturbance....

The 85 chrysler got wet from heavy rain now it won't start the battery has been charged and jumped the lights work but dash indacators don't work and the starter doesn't make a sound nothing lights up...

I'm sure the car has seen heavy rain before without causing any problems. Did rain get inside the car or the car driven through high water? Check the fuse panel for evidence of water contamination. Look for burned fuses or corrosion. If you can't find any fuses or relays that got wet, then I would look to the ignition switch.

There are not any current recalls on this issue and I have not seen any particular issues on this year/make/model I do need to ask if you have a sun roof?

could be that the drains are plugged
either that or you have a seal issue, maybe the door(s) or window

to test, just simulate the situation
have someone stay in the vehicle while you hose the vehicle off without any attachments

spend time and do not move the hose from each section for at least a few minutes while you ensure there is no water instruction

let me know if I can be of any further assistance

Jetta GLX 1998 (old body), when it rains heavy, car run rough

Sounds like you need new wires and or cap and rotor, had the same problem on my jetta 1.8L when I would drive it in heavy rain it would bog down and misfire. The water blows threw the rad right onto your distributor and wires causing the short (old and cracked or just defective). Try it out I'm sure that will fix it.
