Check the ground cable going from the battery to
alternator, then to chassis. Make sure there is no
rust at the chassis ground wire terminal, and that it
is very tight. The fusible link will be off the alternator
red power cable,usually, but not 100% on that car.

SOURCE: I replaced the starter on my 2001 toyota tacoma truck (3.4). The starter is now turning and it appears the engine is moving a bit when the key is turned, but it wont start. I have retraced the wiring,
Won't start or won't crank ? ?
If it won't crank you might have an engine problem such as a broken timing belt.

Is there a sylenoid on the inside of one of the fenders.try crossing with screwdriver? Make sure its in neutral.

Check the starter fuse, and the voltage of solenoid, it could be a bad starter.
