SOURCE: 1992 Toyota Camry won't crank

Check the ground cable going from the battery to
alternator, then to chassis. Make sure there is no
rust at the chassis ground wire terminal, and that it
is very tight. The fusible link will be off the alternator
red power cable, usually, but not 100% on that car.
Good luck.

Won't start or won't crank ? ?
If it won't crank you might have an engine problem such as a broken timing belt.

This is gwen again no the car dont turn over but i hear a clicking on the right side at a fuse box all the lights come on the dash but does nothing

This clicking is due to one of several possible parts. The Starter relay will click if the Battery is low or has a dirty connection. The Starter relay will click if the relay has burned components inside and is the weak link between the Battery and the Starter.

A bad or Grounded-out Starter will ruin a Starter relay by melting its' contact points and then the Starter relay will make the noise you describe.

A smaller Relay in the fuse panel (Ignition Relay) may be keeping the small wires to your Starter Relay from working.

Start out by cleaning the Battery cables for the battery. If not fixed, have someone bypass the Starter Relay after you disconnect the small wires going to that Relay. When bypassed the Starter should turn and if the Key is turned on the RUN position, the engine should start. Be careful to have a stick-shift in Neutral or an Automatic in Park.

If the Starter does not turn when the Starter relay is bypassed, then the starter is bad. If the Battery is bad, then the Starter will not turn either. Check the Battery before condemning the Starter.

My 1995 ford f-150 makes a clackeing noise when i try to start i have replaced the starter and it worked for two weeks and replaced the positve wireing what could it be

You may be having problems with the Starter Relay. There is a small wire on the Relay which runs back to the Ignition switch. If you put a testlight on the end of this wire and turn the Ignition key to START, there should be a steady current going to this small wire. If the testlight cuts out, the Ignition switch is bad. If the testlight works every time, then most likely the Starter relay is bad.

Or you can just change the Starter Relay and forget testing the small wire. You might want to go to Autozone, Oreillys or Advance for a starter Draw test of the new starter after you replace the Relay. Then have them do a test for the Battery to see if it is shorting under a load.

I hope you find my solution very helpful.

may be a bad starter or starter colenoid on the starter, have you tryed to boost car at all?suggest that you check for bad starter because the starter colenoid comes with the new starter. also, make sure the battery terminals are tight, the engine won't start without a good connection. thank you for choosing fixya.com

With fords you have to have to battery tip top condition (a must).
Now when you refer to the starter solenoid, are you talking about the relay on the passenger side fender well. If so, start there.
With the starter wire or trigger wire disconnected, Start running your tests.
Find out if its something to do with the trigger wire or if it has to do with the relay.

I have a 96 grand cherokee. the starter won't turn. I have a 2 month old battery, all the connections are tight, there were no indications of starter problems. it started just fine all day then nothing out...

Pull out, check and switch out the Starter Relay with a non-engine function Relay in your IPM-Fuse and Relay box, and retry starting. The Relay Identifications are located on the back (inside) portion of the IPM Cover. If the Starter works and the other (non-engine operation) function does not = the Relay is bad and needs to be replaced. OR: If the Starter works and the other function works:
a) The original Starter Relay is going bad and should be replaced as soon as the other function quits working.
b) The connections of the Relays into the IPM were corroded/oxidized and unplugging/replugging the Relays made a better connection.
I just fixed an exact problem this weekend by switching out the Relays. The vehicle STARTED!

1996 Dodge Stratus keeps blowing fuse to starter!

Need to look at symntec and see if there is a relay on the starter. Which there most likely is. and it is bad. Look at the fuse and see if there is another wire going from the fuse to a relay,if so replace that relay.
