Worn syncros, probably from someone down shifting into first at a high speed like its a race car. also could be the shifter cables have stretched and need to be adjusted.

SOURCE: Battery drained completely BMW E90 2005 model

Connect your old battery with another battery from another car (WHILE KEEPING ALL CABLES CONNECTED ON BOTH CARS) just user a bridge cable otherwise you'll need. a code to reactivate your BMW again. Try now to start your BMW engine. Now go to the nearest battery dealer to change the battery WHILE KEEPING YOUR ENGINE ON, otherwise you'll need a code to activate your BMW again :)

Good Luck!

You can't reset the limp home mode, you must take it to the dealer and find out why the computer control is asking for limp to be engaged.

Does not rev after jump start even i put down the foet

Have the vehicle scanned and see what fault codes and other irregularities with the engine operation appear. Then a competent mechanic can start to diagnose the problem. If you don't do that then anyone will just be guessing at the cause of the problems you have now.

If the battery was completely drained before you jump started the vehicle, that can affect the computer and that can cause issues.

GEARS NOT ENGAGING WHEN THE CAR IS IDLING BUT ENGAGES WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF

I assume it is a manual, in which case you have a problem with your synchro rings or your tranmission needs oil.

Why won't it start?

There should be a clutch safety switch that prevents you from cranking the engine with the clutch engaged.
Have you checked the switch for power ?

I Have a 2007 chevy cobalt with a manual trans. the trans pops out of 1st,3rd,and5th gear once all the way in vehicle drives fine. Is this a linkage problem or a trans problem

This seems like a linkage problem, you will have to let somebody opreate the gears while you watch and see if when pushed forward if the link on the gearbox completes the full stroke, of not you will probally find the nylon guides are worn causing the system to be floppy. You notice it is all the up stroke gears,2nd and 4th okay.

My car acts like it is going to die when I come to a stop

More likely the transmission - could be the overdrive solenoid is stuck in the engaged position.
