Seems like the tell tale sign of steam on front window and smell of anti-freeze would point more toward the heater core maybe being blocked.

SOURCE: possible heater core issue

Removal of the dash and unpluging all of your wiring. It is a 6-7hr job when you have all the tools but you will need short and long extensions standerd and metric sockets.

I would say it is on a scale of 1-10, 10 being hardest it is like a 4 or 5.
You can do it yourself all it takes is looking to see how things a bolted in. Just w/e you do do not unclip any orange wire connectors or yellow. One of those is your SRS and you could cause a air bag to blow.

SOURCE: no heat, new water pump, new heater core,

Check the hoses leading in to the heater core for rust and scale deposits. Most likely what it would be, if not the heater core. And do it quick, before any junk in the hoses pours the junk into your brand new heater core and fouls it up like the last one probably was!

hELLO THERE AND THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING FIXYA
THIS PROBLEM IS LEADING TO YOUR HEATER CORE THE INTERNAL INTERNAL CORE IS MADE OF SOFT METAL AND WILL DETERIORATE AFTER TIME THUS CAUSING THE COOLANT TO BEGIN LEAKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE UNDER THE DASH OR EVEN THE GLOVE BOX SO YOUARE GOING TO NEED TO DRAIN THE WATER FROM THE RADIATOR AND THEN REMOVE THE 2 HOSES FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT GOING TO THE HEATER CORE THEN ONCE UNDER THE DASH YOU WILL SEE A BLACK BOX ABOUT 1 FT WIDE THIS IS THE HEATER CORE BOX IT IS SEALED SO YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE A VERY SHARP BLADE AND CUT ALONG THE SEAMS OF THE BOX TO GET IT OPEN THEN YOU WILL SEE SEVERAL BOLTS AND NUTS THAT NEED TO BE REMOVED THEN IT WILL COME OUT IT DOES TAKE A LOT OF TURNING AND SLIDING TO GET IT OUT ONCE OUT GET THE NEW ONE AND PUT IT IN PLACE AND BOLT UP EVERYTHNG AND ATTACH THE HOSES FROM THE FIREWALL THEN FILL THE SYSTEM AND CHECK FOR LEAKS IF NONE FOUND SEAL THE BLACK BOX AGAIN WITH A GOOD RTV SEALANT AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO FROM HERE OK>

No heat, new water pump, new heater core, therastat opens, heat just gets warm

make sure the system has been bled properly , i have seen it many times where shops just do a quick fill when parts are replaced(which can cause more problems later on) , first make sure the engine is cold , open the radiator cap , start the engine , when it starts to warm up and the thermostat opens if there is air in the system still you should notice bubbles coming out
let it run for 15 min's or so adding coolant when necessary to keep the lvl up , dont add to much at once as it will over flowalso make sure that the over flow container is filled to the proper lvl

77 el camino leaks from passenger side behind dash. what could it be?

Hello there:
This leakage that youare seeing is coming from the heater core which means that you will need to remove the heater core and get a new one
The best way to do this is to Mark and disconnect the 2 hoses that are going thru the firewall to whick pipe they attach to on the heater core then remove the 6 or 8 nuts or bolts that hold it into place then you will find that the box that the heater core is sitting in may have some nuts and bolts on it to so remove them next the box itself needs to be seperated at the seam to assist in the removal of the heater core so cut along the seam with a very sharp knife or a utility knife and then remove the old heater core and install the new one then put everything back and dont forget to reseal the box otherwise you wont get much heat flow from the core de to air getting inside of the box ok then make sure you put sealant on the bolts where they go thru the fire wall and tighten it down firmly then reattach the hoses and you are done
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

95 cavalier / no heat have antifreeze in drivers floor

hELLO THERE:
This would be a indivcation thatyour heater core is leaking or that the hoses that are attached to the heater core is leaking
I would first inspect the hoses that go to the heater core and then remove the cover for the heater core this has a seam in the middle of the box that covers the heater core just use a very sharp knife and gently cut along the seam and remove the cover now you will be able to see the heater core and you will be able to tell if the heater core is leaking or if it is just the hose that is attached to it ok?
I hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

NO HEAT, IS AT OPERATING TEMPITURE AND ALL CONTROLS ARE WORKING. COOLANT IS TOPPED UP. IS THERE A BLEEDER FOR THE HEATER CORE?

1st, have you lost fluid at any time recently?
2nd, are the electric fans running all the time when the engine is running?
3rd, can you read engine temperature on you dashboard gauges, and if so, what temperature does the engine get to after warming up?

No heat , antifreez leak not visable...

A car this new should have a warranty right? the only other place for anti-freeze to go is through a blown headgasket into your oil. Pull out your oil dipstick and make sure it is not milky in color. If not check behind the engine and see if any coolant lines going into the firewall are leaking. When inside the car do you smell steaming coolant(anti-freeze) or hear gurgling? The temp gauge that stays on is the overheat indicator?

Having heater problems with my 1992 acura vigor gs. I checked the therastat in boiling water and it opened . I checked the coolent fliud and it is full. need next trouble shooting step to fix heater...

You need to check the heater hoses in and out of the heater core to see if they are both hot,if not get the heater core flushed. Also check the valve in the heater that changes from hot to cold and make sure it moves.

No heat

The most likely problem is a stuck heater switch. follow the heater hoses from the firewall to the engine block, somewhere along those lines will be a switch that allows the warm coolant to pass through the heater core. place your hand on both sides of the switch with the car warmed up, if the side towards the block is warm and the side towards the heater core cool then replace the switch.
