You may simply have a bad oil pressure sensor. If it is an older vehicle with many miles on it, it may have bad bearings causing the oil pressure to show up low or none at all. There are many auto supply centers that will check the computer for faults for free.

Hard to start when hot, and gaining hiher oil level, and check engine light is on

Please try this suggestion:

  • First check the oil. If the oils black then replace the oil and I suggest to use a synthetic engine oil for longer life.
  • And also make sure to use additives to ensure to lessen the friction inside your engine.
  • And also try to drain the radiator water and replace it with the new one and I recommend to use a coolant.
If you have further questions feel free to reply to this solution. Have a great day. Cheers.

  • Hi, I can help.
  • The service Engine Light Soon light means it's time for an oil change,

  • You can turn this light off real quick by following these steps.
  1. Turn the key to ACC.
  2. Press the gas pedal down all the was three times in fairly rapid succession.
  3. The service engine soon light will begin to blink and then disappear.
  4. Turn the key to off.
  5. now start your truck.
  6. The light will now be off.
  • This should be done after every oil change.
  • All the light means is that the PCM has indicated that you have driven the required miles for an oil change. A reminder light if you will.

the pcv valve could cause some oil loss. as for the engine light there may be a special way to turn it off. check your owners manual for specifics.

How to reset change oil light

read below on how to do that

Oldsmobile Alero 2004
Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds. The reset is complete when you hear the chimes and the “CHANGE OIL” light goes out. If the light stays on and no chime is heard, you will need to repeat the reset procedure. Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

if you need further information please feel free to let me know and i will be glad to assist you further. If this solution helped you then please feel free to rate the solution. Thanks, Midwest-tek

I have a 2003 Dodge stratus (2.4L), the car runs fine in the mornings, but later in the day, I'm smelling oil and the car idles rough and jerks, has cut off a couple of times, but after engine cools off,...

Your cooking the oil in the engine ( getting to hot/possible oil leak on top of engine). Check the front of the radiator for anything that will cause air not pass through the radiator. If you find any bugs/trash/or a build-up dust or dirt clean it out. Next check to see if the radiator and coolant recovery jug has any antifreeze in it. If not refill each to proper levels with a 50/50 mix antifreeze. Then if all is good run the car in the morning and as it is worming up put your hand on the upper radiator hose to feel if it is hot or cold. If the hose is hot and you can feel the antifreeze moving through the hose then the pump is working correctly. If not and the hose feels luke warm with no movement of fluid then the thermostat is stuck closed and will need to be replaced. Also you need to replace the engine coolant temperature sensor (ect) on engine. Hope this will help you.

Yellow engine light beside oil light is on after starting car up and stays on. what is this light? the car is a nissian wingroad 2002

this light alerts you to the fact that a fault has occured in the electrronic controls of the engine or the emission control system, when the light is turned on a fault code is stored in the memory of the control unit known as the PCM, have the system tested to find out what that code is and what system has failed, u may feel no difference in the way the car feels. Autozone and Kragen auto do this test for free.

I want to turn the oil lite off and service engine lite

You need to reset the oil lite with an oil change or add oil. As for the check engine lite being on you need to read the codes and see why it is on then the repair facility will reset the lite. They come on for a reason.

I have a full tank of oil but my oil light keeps lighting up. How much will it cost to fix it? Also, when it lights up my car feels like it is going to break down. My engine light goes on every now and...

the oil level sensor is located on the side of the oil pan on the engine, this sensor is about $40 and about the same to install it, so u should be good for about $100, as far as the engine light goes u will need a test to see what is turning the light on, it stores a fault code in the control computers memory when it comes on.

Tundra 2007 - turn off "maintenance required" light

Oil Change Reminder Lamp: Service and Repair
Engine Oil Replacement Reminder Light
This light acts as a reminder to replace the engine oil.
This light will come on when the ignition key is turned to "ON" and will go off after about a few seconds.
When you drive for about 7200 km (4500 miles) after the engine oil replacement, this light illuminates for about 3 seconds and then flashes for about
12 seconds with the ignition key turned to the "ON" position. If you continue driving without replacing the engine oil, and if the distance driven
exceeds 8000 km(5000 miles), the light will come on. The light will remain on thereafter.
If the light is flashing, we recommend that you replace the engine oil at an early opportunity depending on the driving and road conditions. If the light
comes on, replace it as soon as possible.
Resetting the system
The system must be reset after the engine oil replacement. Reset the system by the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position with the odometer reading shown.
2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the "TRIP METER" reset button.
Hold down the knob for atleast 5 seconds. The odometer indicates "000000" and the light goes off.
If the system fails to reset, the light will continue flashing.
