Question about Lincoln Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

2003 Lincoln Navigator, I cleaned my center console panel (AC/Heater control knobs) because of sticking buttons now the buttons (Auto, Off, Dual, etc) does turn on or off AC/Heat, nor does the display showing temperture light up? The 3 buttons grouped together for the defrost front and rear work and show temperture in display. I cleaned with water and shop vac. How do I fix?

Sorry typo, Auto, Off, Dual does not turn on when buttons are pressed. Defrost turns on but being that the off button is not working it will not turn off or change temperture. How do I fix the part of my climate control display that is not working properly?

Thank you, I used a blow dryer to dry out. Most buttons started working again. Hope the rest will eventually. If not, ebay sells a replacement. I appreciate your help. Lesson learned :)

SOURCE: heater/AC vent option knob produces knocking sound

If I am reading correctly you are hearing the vent doors moving to redirect the airflow to the vents you choose. This is normal and can be more noticeable if the blower fan is on, putting air pressure against the doors.

SOURCE: 02 navigator front heater blows cold air

Sounds like the blend door or blend motor is not functioning/opening. This door allows the heat/cold air to come in by adjusting open, closed or anywhere in-between for temp. Start there. They are usually vacuum controlled and mounted under the front dashboard near the knee board.

How do u know if your ac/heater control panel is out on a 97 lincoln town car

Hello Natasha Langford,
..
It looks very much like the one in my
OLD Lincoln NAVIGATOR.

Ford has unique part numbers on all of their parts...
Like: F7VH-19C933-AA

You can call your local friendly parts dealer... Auto dismantlers have cross-over books... they can use to assist in such situations..

I don't know if any serious COMMUNITIES OF INTEREST
have formed (clubs) around 20 year old Lincolns... but I'm POSITIVE the antique folks could tell you how to begin...

Fr myself I'd copy the part number off of the PART in question...
and post it on eBay... and the rest of the internet

How do I fix the air condition control buttons?

Hello,

Well, I can't tell by your explanation if the knob stem is broken & just spinning around or if it feels normal and nothing happens.

So, I guess I would first have you check all the fuses labeled "AC" or "Heater". Might be just a blown fuse, but remember, fuses always blow for a reason. There are many things that can be causing your problem like the heater/ac fan speed relay or a broken wire, etc.

I don't how auto repair savvy you are but, Google "Mazda 3 a/c panel". You will see many things on that first page like inexpensive replacement knobs, etc. There are even several YouTube videos on how to gain access to your ac/heater control panel. There is a wealth of information there. If you are not a do-it-yourselfer, you can at least look through there to educate yourself before you take your car to someone. Being informed ahead of time is very valuable.

AC/Heater control valve :Lancer 2003 Misubishi

The sliding switch on the console is stuck in the cold position and the knob is pulled off. Use pliers to jiggle the switch as best you can. Feel under the center console and you probably will find the cable that is hooked up to the flapper. You'll know because when you jiggle the cold/heater switch at the upper console, the cable will move slightly. At the hookup of the cable to the flapper down under the console (passenger side) try to work the flapper loose to the open (or close) position. At the same time work the sliding switch (with pliers). The flapper will come loose and function properly. Try not to knock of the AC button like I did in the process. It flew off some where under the passenger seat. I'll find it sometime before summer. Ha.

My 2003 LIncoln Navigator liftgate is not working. I had a response that it could be the sensor/switch that senses if the liftgate is closed, but the door does not open when using the overhead console...

check relay and fuses, make sure that automatic liftgate is on. You will have to to the command center and go through the defaults and make sure that the system is on. if you are not comfortable doing that, disconnect battery for approximate ten minutes, this will reset the system defaults.
