2001 kia sephia Is cutting in and out. It jerks going at a steady speed like 55mph every 8 seconds itll do it then be fine then itll do it again like bogging down for a 1 second then comes back fine and just repeats its self. also sometimes when taking off itll rev down lose all power wont go when pressing gas it bogs down and then itll kick back in after 3-5 seconds or so back to normal sometimes I have to shift into next gear for it to stop.. just replaced tps sensor and mass air flow sensor cause it threw them two codes at auto zone. Engine check light went off now its back on not even 3 mins of driving it still doing same thing as before.....whats wrong with this car?

SOURCE: Car wont shift properly

sounds more like a vacume problem than a sensor, but the way I would start is go threw all the vacume lines you can. they are easy and very cheap to replace. check for any insignificant defect cracks warps distortions in the line. Anything. Then remove your air filter intake line to the throtle body. remove the throtlebody its only 4 bolts and usualy to sensors. The throtle body may just be dirty, clean it out inside and out. Then chek you aire intake sensor, sometimes its called an idle sensor, last check the throtle body sensor. Also if you still have your old mass airflow sensor clean it up with the proper mass air flow cleaner and return the new one. Because obviously it wasn't the problem.

Now is the time I tell you all about proper maintenace. Did you replace your air filter, when is the last time you changed your plugs and wires. I really like the bosch platinum 2 plugs. They burn a litle hot but not to hot, which means more burn and cleaner, less emissions. Hint hint to you that have to pass a emissions test every year.

You may want to go on utube and check out a product called Seafoam. I have had a lot of success with this product. It goes in your gass tank in your oil, and the third part goes in your vacume going into your injectors. It does clean a lot of **** out of your car. But I warn people that this is a at your own risk kind of thing. I know how to take my engine apart and fix it do you. Because I wont come to your house and rebuild your engine if you mess it up. Sorr for the rant but l have to give that litle disclaimer out.

have light turned off with scanner, or drive it a few miles to see if it goes off. just because the sensors have been changed the pcm thinks there is still a problem and keeps light on. turn off with scanner.

epc is short for electronic pedal control, the throttle is controlled by an electric motor and has two angle sensors in the throttle body. the pedal it self has two sensors as well, sometimes after a battery replacement or replacement of certain parts (ecm throttle body pedal controls) the control modules need to be reset or "relearned" to one another. the dealer or independent shop with correct softwear can do this, if problem persists possible bad throttle body pedal sensors or ecm (engine control module)

Alot of people have the same problem, including me. Changing the transmission fluid is not going to help this problem. THe transmission filter is not something you change as much as you clean and reinstall, its just a metal screen. Call Kia and ask for an "OVERDRIVE SHIFT SOLENOID" they will need the last 8 digits of your VIN, vehicle identification number, to locate your part. I am in the process of changing mine. The part number should be something like 46313-39051. That number is for a 2001 Kia Optima, with the 4 cylinder. There are three shift solenoids bolted to the bottom of your transmission should. I'll let you know what the difficulty level when I am finished.

When i reverse my car jerks why is that

is it a 5 speed manual trans? Lay off the clutch and just give a slight pressure on the gas, not even enough to really get it going, this should smooth it out some, if it is an auto trans, then you should have a look at the tranny, and the gear box.

sounds like possible bad ignition coil or spark plug wire. would need more info though.

2000 Kia Sephia starting problem

what i think it is the starter siinoid is not being relesed and the cars motor is not turing over.jack it up and have some one try to turn it on but make sure the back wheels are secured. it sound like the starters silinoid is no releseing when you turn the key over.the starters silinoid is geting stuck. hope that helps let me know what happens
