Question about 1994 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

94 Buick Lasabre: turn key off & back on in 2-3 seconds & clock is correct & radio still on station. Turn key off and back on longer than 2-3 seconds and clock goes to 1200 AM, & radio goes to top of range (1400 AM). Is there a replaceable battery like in a computer that holds the clock and readio settings when key is off???

Double check your fuses. Your radio gets power from key to turn on but also receives it direct on another wire for memory.

You have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit for sure then. I'm betting the relay, but it could be that dropping resistor.

SOURCE: 1997 buick lasabre radio locked

You must take it to a dealership and they will unlock it for you. There is a specific dealer code that will unlock any radio and once they do it, you pick one that you will remember. This is part of the anti theft. Hope this helps.

94 lasabre with dash light issues

My first thought was the fuse for the clock and radio memory. That circuit is not powered thru the key switch like the radio is.
But the other issue could be a bad connection in the harness to the dash.

I think you need to check your power wires to your radio. This is a common mistake. There are several power wires to deal with. One wire stays hot to keep the clock and radio presets working. The second is Hot when the key is turned on. The third is hot when you turn on your lights for instrument lighting. If you connected this wire for your power source, You would have this problem you are describing. If it's wired correctly, Check the ground wire to the radio. Hope this helps.
