SOURCE: abs and brake light staying lit

First you have to plug in a OBD II reader and pull any codes. From there you can start to diagnose the problems.
Do not wait, the abs (anti-lock brake system) is important and may affect your braking.
Please let me know what you find.

Gauge lights

ABS and Brake warning lights intermittent may be caused by a failing wheel speed sensor(ABS Sensor) and /or its connector. You may have one on each wheel hub(4WD) or if 2WD, a sensor may be on the rear axle differential center.

1996 toyota celica st202 abs light come on intermitently

While it may be an eletrical issue developing, it may also be internal to the hydraulics of the brake system. If the system was recently flushed, I would look at the wheel sensors first- make sure thery have not picked up debris and sensors are snugly mounted and wiring in good shape.

If the brake system has not been flushed with new fluid, the system should get flushed out next time brakes are serviced. This may mean an expensive repair, but it depands on how comfortable and experienced you are without ABS at all.

If the ABS fails- all that happens is you lose the brake pressure modulation. Fancy word for braking yes- pulsing of the pedal by the system- no. The wheels or a single wheel "might" lock up while hard braking possibly changing handling dynamics of the vehicle..

Abs light goes on bell rings gauges go to zero can't put car in gear

Most cars have a safety switch that requires you to step on the brake in order to shift. I would start there making sure the switches on the brake pedal are all in adjustment and operating properly.

Abs and trac off lights come on together but Intermitting

You have speed sensors that tell your computer what speed each wheel is going, and if one fails, this happens. The brake pulse is from the antilock brake system thinking a wheel is slipping.

TCS light & ABS Light on/off intermitent

usually when there is an interuption in current flow you will get flickering indicator lights on the dash. This means one of two things, either the sensors that control those indicator lights are becoming faulty or the alternator may be on its way out. One thing you need to keep in mind if you ABS unit is on its way out you will not notice any difference in drivability. ABS is just a brake assist(Antilock Brake System) when it fails you don't lose your brakes you just stop like a regular brake system would without an assist.(ABS) Maybe the unitis on its way out as well.. I would ge it checked as well.. Good Luck
