Question about 2009 Hummer H2
My boyfriend got in his truck today and seat was moved all the way forward. When he tries to move the seat back it wont and makes no noise, but it will move up and down. The fuse seems to be okay. Any suggestion? He can't afford to pay a mechanic to get it fixed so what's the cheapest way to do this or is there a way to manually move it back temporarily?
First check to see if anything is blocking the tracks if so remove. next it could be the switch if passenger side has controls try swapping them if passenger side does not have controls take switch off and check the resistance in the switch when in the on position (forward or back) if it is not the switch motor is probably burned out if passenger side again has motor try swapping. (passengers don't need to be comfortable) or just buy a new motor. hope this helps

The power folding function of your exterior mirrors on your '04 H2 depends on a plastic gear to collapse those mirrors at the touch of a button. That plastic gear strips very easily. The service adviser at our Hummer dealership said that problem was rectified in later model years with a redesign of of the collapsing mechanism of those mirrors.
I don't mind manually folding our mirrors, and I was afraid to ask about the cost of the parts required to solve the issue. The service guy didn't volunteer the cost of the fix. Not typically covered by aftermarket extended service/warranty plans.

SOURCE: Lost power to driver seat.
Welcome to Fixya
Problem there is the seat module. Replace it and your problem will be resolved. Look under the front of the seat. You will find 2 nuts that holds the bottom of the seat to the base. Take them off then will be able to get to the module from the top with 2 nuts 2 screws 4 plugs.
Thank you for using Fixya!

Unfortunately, lots of moisture and junk can get up there and kill the bulb. Remove the bulb, inspect it, inspect the connections. Make sure there is no rust and junk in there. If one bulb is working and the other is not, replace the bulb. Believe me, I have seen stranger things happen... but with one working it is not the relay or the fuse.

SOURCE: I have a 2006 H2.
Same thing happened to me, cleaning the truck and seat got stuck, everything worked except back and forth. I touched every wire, hit the rails with a hammer and nothing worked. Before I was ready to call dealership I remembered my truck had the seats setting memorized on the door, I hit the buttons number 1 an 2 but it didn't move back, I then hit the button on the driver door dor everytime u exit the truck the seat should move to furthest back and majically the seat went back and all is back to normal.
