Drivers heaflight goes out sometimes.when the lights aare turned back off and on it stays lit.any sussestions

Hi Owen

Headlights don't work directly from the in vehicle dash switch.

They use very fine wiring to that switch. Not thick enough to supply current to the Headlamps.
Instead, the small switch is used to actuate a magnetic switch with bigger current carrying contacts. Usually close to the Battery & Headlights.
The device is called a Relay.
The contacts are moved by a small low current electromagnet that can be heard clicking.
The contacts in the relay can sometimes get stuck (welded) together which keeps the headlights on when the internal switch is turned off.
Relays are often grouped together in the Fuse Box area.
You can either find the Relay and unplug it and open it up & clean the contacts or strengthen internal spring.
Replace the Relay with another.

1999 dodge durango has no power to sterring colomn, doors, windows, seats or headlights. i was changing heater core n that problem occurred? looking for answers.....

you might have accidentally shorted out the wires resulting in the fuses to get blown, check out the fuses and replace them if blown.

Not completely sure your problem. Are you low beams out and your high beams still work? If so, switch relay #46 with relay #45 in the fuse box under the hood. Do your lights now come on? If so, replace the low beam relay.

Where do i find the OBD2 fuse?

it sounds to me like its in the ignition switch. if it does it while u are driving take the sterring wheel and pull the tilt handle and lift it up and down. sometimes the wires in the sterring colum go bad and u have to replace the switch because the wires are about a foot long on them. im not compleatly sure so dont go tearing about ur sterring collum till u find out if thats what it is. but yeah try tilting the sterring wheel up and down when it does it and see it it makes a difference.

Flashing headlights while the car is off

  • Hi! try to check the wirings and also check the fuse for the headlights make sure it is not busted and if you will replace it make sure you use the right fuse amp.
  • Also check the relay if you know how to replace a relay replace it.
  • If you still needs further assistance don't hesitate to reply to this solution.

When i turn on my headlights it blows the fuse but all the other lights work till you turn on the headlights

You have a short to ground somewhere. I would start at your headlights and make sure the wires are in good condition. From there I would look at your switch since it's the most used in the system.

Headlights in 1990 ford bronco/full size

Bronco uses a RELAY switch under the hood. Is that what you replaced?

Swap it with the A/C RELAY switch (they are the same) to check it.
