The ignition is stuck in the on position and will not turn off in a 1992 lumnia

We have a 1992 lumnia and the key is stuck in the on position it will not turn it is frozen and the only way to shut it off is disabling the battery and stop all power to the car. and we tried graphite and it worked for about a week and now it is back stuck in the on position and you cant get it to turn off even if you broke the key off in the ignition. what causes this to happen?

Our ignition is frozen in the on position of our 1992 lumnia and we had this problem before and had taken the steering column apart to fix it and he used graphite and it worked but only for about a we

I had bad luck with graphite before. Try spraying a little bit of WD-40 on it, wiggle and insert and remove the key till the cylinder lubricates and turns. If that doesn't work you might need a new ignition switch.

My ignition switch will not turn all the way back to the off position, so my key is stuck in the car. ive changed the ignition itself but its the same problem as before

Check the lower steering column plastic bushing. It may have come out of place and is stopping the column lock mechanism from entering the column. You should replace the bushing as soon as possible but removing it will allow you to remove the key.

The ignition won't turn over

This could most certainly be cause be split/cracked tumblers within the switch or by another part of the key cylinder. It could be as easy as a fix as getting a new key cut by code. On your model car you should find a sticker within the glovebox or stamped on the glove box lock. Bring the code or complete lock to your nearest locksmith shop and I'm sure they can help.

The Key was stuck in the ignition position and it was locked there, what is the matter with it?

Sounds like the ignition lock cylinder has gone out on you. Also a possiblilty is the ignition switch itself, though less likely than the other.

The crank sensor is stuck in the side of the block on the rear of the engine. From underneath, look up between the engine and transmission.
