Drivers side window will not go completely airtight when up.drops and goes up when door opens and shuts, but not high enough to seal correctly

My 02 had this same problem, the glass has shifted position in the mechanism. You will need to take the inner door card off to get at the mechanism, lower the glass about half way then reach through the large opening in the door panel to feel for the large 'cog' shaped retaining bolts that hold the glass to the mechanism (one either side, both facing the outer door skin). A 5mm torx or allen key bit is required to loosen both 'cogs'. You can then adjust the glass position. This is possibly best done with two people...once the glass is loose, make sure you move the glass first to break the seal (it may have stuck to the rubber seal over time, so will not move much), then gently tighten into place, raise the window to the full up position, shut the door fully, then with the help of an assistant, one inside the car one outside, move the glass into the desired place and tighten the cogs. Open the door, fully lower and fully raise the glass, then keep the switch in the up position for 5 seconds, this teaches the ECU the new position. Check that the window closes when you open and close the door, if not, try adjusting the glass angle with the adjustment screws located at the very bottom of the door. When in the right position, you should just be able to pull a sheet of paper past the glass and the seal. Boom, done!

The glass of the driver not move up & down

if it is a power window, first look in your manual and find the fuses that control the window. if the fuses are good, then you will need to replace the window regulator, inside the door, it will require removing the door panel , you will also need to try to keep the window closed while removing the old regulator, go to www.rockauto.com and look up your cars information to find the replacement ,I found this site has the cheapest prices and best quality .

I have 98 Isuzu trooper my drivers side rear

You will need to strip out the inner door trim and look at the window mechanism when operated. I imagine all will be revealed. Its possible something has come loose or jumped out of position and a good DIY person or home mechanic will soon work out what's wrong. Try a breakers yard for another if required or an auto spares shop or ebay etc.

WHEN I ROLL UP THE DRIVER FRONT WINDOW IT GOES UP THEN ROLLS HALF WAY DOWN BY ITSELF

Hi there,

If manual window winder

Your driver's window glass may have come off the regulator mechanism.

If electric window control

The glass may have detached from the regulator or the regulator cable has unwound itself off the mechanism (ie tension during upward motion, but loose when motor stops winding).

Your driver's door panel will need to be removed to inspect your window regulator operation.

    FRONT RIGHT DOOR PANEL

Remove the door panel from the inside of the door. It has clips that you can pop off around most of the door with a screw driver. There is also a screw or two that is usually in the handle that you grab to close the door or under the arm rest of the door panel and also one behind a small plastic panel behind the door opener handle that you pry off with a small screwdriver. Once you have the panel free you must look behind it and disconnect the wiring connectors, then you can lift up on the panel and remove it from the door. There's a plastic membrane that you can remove to get to the inside of the door frame Then look through holes in the door frame to find the bottom of the window glass. It will be sitting in a track that usually has two nuts that tighten a clamp onto the bottom of the glass. Loosen these nuts and you can pull the window up and out of the door.

    2004 f150 supercrew driver's side front window.

    Hey Ford 4 Life!

Sounds like either the glass has separated from the bottom edge mounting frame and has slipped down into the door independent of the mechanism, or the bottom edge mounting frame has disattached from the rest of the lift mechanism.

Try this: Power the window mechanism to the full down position. Then try and retrieve the glass from within the door, and by hand move the glass within the guide grooves to the fully raised position. Now whileholding the glass in that position power the lift mechanism up all the way. If it catches properly, this will hold the window closed.

But to really fix the problem will involve removing the door panel to gain access (limited though it be) to the glass, mounting frame and lift mechanism. This area is a little tricky, but most auto glass shops can fix this easily (and cheaply!) as they have the tools and the expertise...

Hope this is a hlp and good luck!
