SOURCE: 2005 dodge Ram 1500 truck 5.7 Hemi check engine lights comes on

Two things you want to know about the check engine light on any vehicle. One is it's an emission warning. The most common cause is a loose gas cap, make sure it clicks when you gas up. Second, is that being an emissions light, is that it'll require some test equipment to find the problem if you checked the gas cap and it's tight. You will want to do that at your friendly Dodge dealer. Why? They'll not only know what it is, it might be fixed free in the emissions warranty which has some parts that are covered longer than the vehicle's regular warranty. The shop on the corner doesn't do warranty work and they're not going to tell you if it might be covered.

SOURCE: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch

typical problem, replace the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) it is located directly opposite of the throttle cables on the throttle body. 2 bolts save the bolts for the love of god SAVE THE BOLTS they are "trilobal" and come verry much in handy later. but it is an easy 10 minute fix and if my memory is correct they are torx head bolts from factory.

Has moisture on inside oil cap and no water in the oil. Vehicle runs fine

This is very common on the 4.7 Rams, internal moisture collects there and forms a white sludge in the neck and on the cap. I have battled this myself on my 04 1500 and found there isn't a solution. As long as the oil in the pan isn't milky you're ok. P.S. A new oil cap is no help.

How do i put in spark plugs in my 2005 dodge ram 1500

I'm assuming this is a 5.7 hemi. Remove the 8 coil packs that are bolted to the top of the valve cover. You can do 1 at a time. Each coil pack has two spark plugs under it . use a 5/8 spark plug socket and extention. If its a 4.7 the coil packs are held on by one 10mm nut. These packs are just inside the valve cover on both sides of the engine. There will be only one 5/8 plug for each pack

2004 Dodg Ram 1500 5.7 L Hemi

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7ltr Hemi....I had a significant issue with loss of oil...the bottom of this engine and vehicle is as dry as they come. No smoke from the tail pipe...however the inside is dark...not that light grey clean burning look...I'm also seeing oil residue inside the air breather....I searched all over that engine to find what knew a PCV should look like...I finally broke down, drove to the local Dodge service dept. and asked one of their mechanics to come show me...facing the engine...on the passenger side of the engine, behind the throttle body cover is what looks like a plug with a raised center clip you grab and twist clockwise to unlock and counter to took a bit of prying with a small flathead screwdrive, but it popped up. The check valve in it was sluggish (due to the oil) and probably not functioning to full capacity. The dealership charges about $42 per but cut me a "deal" and charged me $34. You do have to remove the throttle body cover to see it and ultimately remove it....2 screws and you're there.
