Depends on year, make and model. I changed mine in my 03 Tahoe but had to rewrite the Sirius, nav, xm, and voice control box. Took me a bit but real happy with how it turned out. Changing radios is not like it used to be so I advise you go to a decent radio shop

2014 silverado factory am/fm need to replace , how do I without messing with computer , or do I have to go to dealership?

Your system stays on until you open the door. This is controlled by body control module. Peer wire to stereo remains hot until you open door. I would recommend hooking a quick simple CD player up using existing power wire which as I said remains hot after you turn off the key until you open the door. If it works and the vehicle is happy and powers the stereo then go ahead and put in a system.

2007 Pontiac Torrent: Radio drains battery when off.

hmm... well normally that line will also power the clock but i cant see it drawing that much power :/ If you take that fuse out does it still flatten your battery? what about immobilizer? or car alarm? but whatever it is... you may have to divert power to ignition instead of accessories so that it only uses power when the key has been turned to 'on' position... but there's definitely something using power there.... I'm curious!

What is the wire color code for a2001 malibu stereo. i would like to put an after market stero in?

if you havent taken the factory stereo out of the vehicle yet, if were you i would go to an auto store and buy wiring harness that plugs into your factory harness, that gives you all the colors to match up with your aftermarket... that way nothing gets cut on or messed up... and with the electical stuff linked to the stereo system, trust me you dont want a headache like that... a harness kit only cost like 15 bucks, plus if you ever wanted to get rid of the vehicle you could take your aftermarket stereo out, and plug the factory one right back in... hope this helps

My factory anti theft system will not all me to start my car without waiting 10-20 minutes for the light to stop blinking. I want to just take it out of the car completely. Where is it located so I may do...

You need to first remove the trim from around the stereo and ignition switch. Then take the stereo out (there should be 4 7mm bolts I believe). Once you have the stereo out, you should be able to see the ignition switch to the left of where the stereo was. Look for a 3 wire harness that has a black, yellow, and white wire. You will need to cut the black and yellow wires and solder a resistor (1/8 W, and anything between 500 and 10,000 ohms) between them on the BCM (body control module) side. The resistor goes in place of the switch. After that, you will need to do the 15 minute re-learn procedure one more time, and that should be it.
