Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Hi, I have a 99 ford contour and I'm having issues with the heater. The first time I had a problem I found that the controle panel just needed replaced. The second time one of the plugs on the back of the controle panel melted, so I replaced that. Now it's not working again and I have replaced the transistor next to the blower moder, I have removed the blower moder and tested it and it works great. I have checked all fuses under the hood as well as all fuses under the steering colum and they are all good. Please, if anyone els has any knowledge as to what I should do or check next please let me know. Thanks

SOURCE: tail light stop working on my 92' toyota camry

In the car trunk, there may be a electrical relay box behind the panel on the left side. It is usually no bigger than 4 inches by 4 inches and yellow in color. This is present in 1987-1991 Toyota Camrys and is generally not in most repair manuals. This yellow electrical relay box may have burnt out. Best place to pick one up at an inexpensive price is at the car wrecking or salvage yard. It is very expensive at the dealer. It is easy to replace with no special tools required. I have done this on my 1991 Camry,

99 ford contour gauge shows running hot. Change both sensors near thermostat and the thermostat. Flushed system and burped it. Ac or heat makes no difference. Fans seems to be working. Any ideas?

Is it ACTUALLY overheating? Check for heat at the top and bottom radiator hoses, and at both heater core hoses. If one is cold then your radiator or your heater core may be plugged and in need of a individual flush.

Need to know inside fuse panel for 99 contour 2liter diagram of what fuse is for what

The Owner's Manual has a diagram in it. If you don't have that, then a repair manual (a Chilton's or similar will do fine) has it, too. Most dealerships can print out a fuse panel diagram for you, or you can do a Web search for "1999 Contour fuse panel diagram" and you will find a number of them.

The timing belt on my '99 Contour just broke. I had it replaced along with the tensioner by a Ford dealer....but now the engine falters under moderate to hard acceleration. Prior to the timing belt...

let them re install it ,
I think it is one tooth backwards.
you need to do a timing test with a dynamo dyno lap top computer hooked up to the engine computer. the dealership for ford will do it let them know.
