You will need to replace the key cylinder and likely the ignition switch. Have done at dealer or reputable shop.

I have a 2005 honda Accord at my key went in just fine I left the place where I was at went to the bank came back my key wouldnt go in ignition my husband came about hour later he finally got it to go in...

this happens. try dry graphite and a lot of finessing or call a locksmith to change out the barrel. the electronics(security) and key are most likely good but the actual ignition is worn and shot. good luck!

Ford focus -00 Key fob problem

did you buy the car used. I had a 00 ford focus. and to make it cheaper to install a security system I took the chip out of the orginal key and placed it inside (where the key goes.) the only reason I am mentioning this is because the person I sold it to just got rid of it. Now its a one and a million shot but hey you never know. lol Is it black?

I dropped my ignition key and it broke in half, can I still get a copy made with the two pieces?

This happened to someone I know. They actually took it to an expert and they got it fixed with just the two pieces!...Sounds difficult but hey, it's worth the shot. Or else you'll need to replace the ignition cylinder. Hope this helps.

I have 2000 ls , took eng apart and found cam chain broke. and wonder what cause it to break clean? nothing is bang up.should i place cam chain and that be it or there more to it?

Very rare that a chain breaks. I'd replace the chain and before closing it up, turn the engine by hand and see if anything is binding or frozen in the valvetrain. Also look carefully at the valve springs to make sure that no valves have bent. (if bent, most times the spring will not return to normal height)

Husband is pretty knowledgeable on cars, but this is a stumper!!! May be an electrical problem. The engine won't crank over. Took starter out, tested it, its good, If you hit the key, lights in dash go...

have you tested the ignition itself (where the key goers in) Typically this is a problem when too much weight (i.e. too may keys, etc) are on the key chain- ignition swithches do not like the added weight.
Best regards

Remove ignition switch will not turn

you can access the ignition switch from underneath the dash, but I found it easier to remove the steering wheel, then the instrument cluster. There are two basic elements to the ignition switch. The part that usually breaks down first is the front section, where the key goes into. You have to remove the entire unit from its bracket. Unplug the wire loom from the back of the housing. I believe there are two screws holding both sections together. Remove the screws and replace the unit. Then re-assemble. BUT FIRST, BEFORE YOU START TAKING EVERYTHING APART, TRY USING ANOTHER KEY. YOU'RE DEALING WITH A 25 YEAR OLD CAR, AND POSSIBLY A 25 YEAR OLD KEY (which I can't imagine, but its possible). YOU MIGHT ALSO WANT TO SQUIRT A SHOT OF WD-40 INTO THE IGNITION'S KEY SLOT...THERE COULD BE A STUCK SPRING OR BLADE INSIDE. If all that fails, then start taking the ignition switch apart. Its a fairly easy proceedure, less than 30 mins....and the switch should cost less than $60.00 from MB.
