Simpson dishwasher I have just replaced the plastic moulding for theis dishwasher because the handle has broken relatively straightforward but when i get to replacing the control knob I cannot get the retaining clip and the control knob in the correct alignment. If I push the retaining clip on to the knob the thread is restricted and I cannot get it to fit if I use it without the clip then it fits but the knob will not stay in place???How is this supposed to work?>??

SOURCE: I have a 1999 taurus 3.0 v6. The trans cooler line

You can buy a snap in replacement end that can be bent and attached to 3/8 th's fuel line and by pass the rotted metal line. I have been doing transmissions Since 1981, and have the same rotted lines on my 01 Windstar. I just went to all hose except the line into trans and into radiator. double clamp the hose on the lines and save a lot of money. make sure you sip tie the hose so it is out of the way and check your trans fuel level when you are done. Let it get hot in park and running when you check the level on the stick.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: how to replace heater hose bypass fitting on 03 impala

You need to buy the fittings first they are sold by a company called HELP motormite. Very common to go bad. You will need to buy or borrow springlock tool. Are sold seperately or in a set. What they are is a garter spring that will disconnect quick connector on fittings. The parts store will have them too.

It is threaded. I use an air powered saw to remove these. It is a common problem. You can do it with a hacksaw blade. Stick the blade in and cut outward into 3 or 4 pieces. Just cut till you hit the threads. Then pry the sections out one at a time. The new one will be metal. Or you can use a large easy-out.

Replace outside door handle 1992 somina

Exterior door handles of vehicles are fairly straightforward things to replace once the interior trim panel or door card and waterproof membrane have been removed and these things are often less than straightforward with hidden clips and screws. A repair manual makes the process simpler if you haven't much experience.

The screws or nuts securing the door handle are then accessible with the window up. There is probably a link connecting the handle to the door catch but not always and if the handle also contains the lock there might be a second link connecting to the door catch. Sometime it is easier to release the links from the door catch and withdraw them with the handle and sometimes it is easier to disconnect at the handle before removal. Sometimes it is easier to withdraw the handle a little way and unclip the link(s) outside the door.

In nearly all cases it is a task that is complicated and fiddly the first few times but incredibly simple later on. Look forward to breaking plastic clips, especially in cold weather, and a feeling of frustration.

The best advice I can offer you is make yourself comfortable and don't try to hurry. Have an assistant standing by but don't allow her to distract you. Work in twilight or under overcast skies or deep shade so the shadows aren't so deep ordinary torchlight needed to see inside the door gets lost and you are working blind.
Don't forget to fit the gaskets to the new handle before refitting. Finish by lubricating whatever can be lubricated inside the door, testing whatever can be tested and then washing your hands before refitting the membrane and door card.

Broken door handle

Unfortunately as our cars age, interior plastic breaks, especially if the vehicle has never had its windows tinted and its been parked outdoors in the direct sun. Replacement of interior handles is relatively easy and can typically be done without removing the door panel. Although I have had to pull some panels off and had other be a royal pain in the **** to replace. There is typically a metal rod connected to a plastic loop on the handle. I would try to purchase new components rather then used (especially plastic) since you do not know the history of the used parts. I would also buy genuine Toyota parts since these tend to last longer then the aftermarket clone. Good Luck

I have this same problem, and I removed the interior door fascia to examine the cause.
As mentioned, the moving, plastic part of the door handle has a recess that houses the return spring. Under stress (under too little stress, if you ask me), part of that plastic that surrounds the spring ruptures (tears), and the spring can no longer exert sufficient force to get the handle to retract flush against the car.
There is no way to fic that plastic part--you have to replace the entire handle. Searching for "Toyota Echo Door Handle" will find you a number of on-line sites that sell BLACK handles for under $7.00! The dealer wants something like $50-$70 for an OEM part, with the right color.
I have the service manual, and replacing these things is a *****! You have to use a TORX bit to remove the actual latch in the door, to get it out of the way.
There isn't actually any fixed linkage between the handle and the interior latch mechanism. When you pull the handle up enough, a plastic cam on the handle strikes a metal lever within the car door, forcing the latch to release the steel hoop. So once you can ACCESS the handle, swapping it out looks straightforward. The problem is, accessing it is a pain. Make sure you have a magnetic grabber handy for the hardware!
I have yet to find a cheap source for SILVER handles on the Internet (none of the Internet Junkyards have responded).
