What will cause a Misfire on number 4 cyl and intermittant misfire on 3cyl on a v70 2.4 liter volvo

Hi Eyeman, Have the vehicle diagnostically scanned. You will probably discover you have two or more defective coils. Intermittent problems with the knock sensor, the crankshaft and camshaft sensors can also be reasons, but not common for the described faults. Lastly the ECU, but very unlikely. regards John

Intermittant misfire audi a3 3.2

Alright listen...I believe these undiagnosed issues are because of bad fuel. It could be ethanol or just dirt. My car had performance issues and eventually would stall. It occurred mostly when I was low on fuel and the dirt would then be pulled up into the engine. If you have misfires or the diagnostic suggests injectors or manifold start with removing and cleaning the tank and fuel lines. Then recheck and go from there.

MAZDA CX-9 P0354 CODE

Cylinder 4. Each cylinder has it's own coil above the sparkplug.
If you have a misfire, it's probably a bad coil. But if it's an intermittent misfire, it may be the wiring to the coil. If it's intermittent, start the car and wiggle the wires to that coil. If you cause a misfire you need to check the wiring to the coil.
Goode luck.
