SOURCE: coolant leak in pipe behind waterpump

That is the water pump "outlet" tube. It is held on by one screw and it has an o-ring at the end that seals it. You need to replace the o-ring. I also put on some permetrex grey sealant around the o-ring, then stuck it back in.

SOURCE: 2000 3.8 mustang waterpump leaks at pipe that goes

That's the return pipe to the pump from the heeater core. It's leaking at the pump? Is it leaking
from the hose that's clamped on,do you think? That is probably a pressed fitiing into the pump
and if it is leaking around the fitting, and the pump has over 30,000 miles on it, I'd just bite the bullet and replace the pump.
I know.....on a 3.8 it isn't the easiest job. (:^) don-ohio

i think your water pump is done for. replace pump and the belt and you should be good to go. that lower pipe always rotts out on these vans. might want to replace the coolant bypass hose on top while your at it. it tends to brake around the same time as the lower pipe

Check your intake manifold. These are prone for cracking behind the alternator and leaking. There was a recall on them awhile ago but it is expired.
