My opel astra estate 160i,1995 model radiator fan not working
Hi, there are a few things that are the usual suspects, ill try to walk you through what and how to check. First, you need to check your coolant for circulation and overheating. When the vehicle is cool, pop the head take off the radiator cap, check and see if you have coolant. If yes, start the vehicle and let it get warm. Watch in the radiator top to see if coolant is flowing. If not, your probably overheating due to your radiator is dirty or a water pump issue. If it flowing, we need to check the electronic issues. To do this you'll need a meter or a test light, and a piece of wire. If you have a meter, unplug the fan plug set your meter on ohms and see which one is ground. You do this by turning off the ignition. Replug the connector loosely so you can access the terminals, take your meter and put one end to ground the other to the connector, the one that pegs is your ground. Take your wire put it on the other terminal the other end of the wire to the pos. of the batt ,the fan should kick on. If not your fan motor is bad. From this point, you'll have one of three issues. The fan/temp sensor is def. The fan relay is def, or a wire is def. Hope that helps.
