The dash lights are on the same circuit as the tail lights (or running lights) look in the fuse box and look for the fuse location labeled "tail lights".

How do you fix the dash and running lights?

With what info you've given,it would not have been the light switch or the rheostat for changing dash light brighting.Since both the dash lights and running lights are not working, first thing I'd have done is replace the fuse, since both are o the same fuse.Kinda like when my Toyota wipers would stop, the overdrive stopped working too. Both were on the same fuse.Replace the fuse and good to go.I carry fuses with me.

Dash lights out in 1987 toyota corolla

Take a test light and check all fuses. Also dash lights usually have a dimmer which could be turned off or defective.Usually if tail lights work, dash lights should as they are usually on the same fuse.

I have a 2004 ford freestar the dash light light came on for the master light switch now i have no lights at all is this just a fuse.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. Try changing your dash fuse. It may be marked as dash cluster. This fuse controls all the lights on the dash. Use your fuse box diagram to find the exact location of the fuse. If you have a question, just let me know.

When I turn on the headlamps the dash lights go out. Guages all work, radio display disappears also. fuse is good and tried changing headlight switch

Get a test light, and ground the clip, put the tip of the test light on the dash light fuse.Turn the knob to dim,and brighten the dash lights, see if the test light reacts with the dimmer switch. If it does not, then there is a wire jumped to by pass the dash lights somewhere. If the test light dims, and brightens, then there is a wire of going to the dash,or bad connection where the harness clips into the dash.
