SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Impala wont start

The most common cause of this problem on the Impalas is their @$!@ security system called Passlock or Passlock II. It is very sensitive and senses an intrusion a lot of times even when there is not one. When it does it locks down the fuel injectors. You can leave the key in the ignition in the on position and wait 10 minutes for it to re-set but it tends to do this 4-5 times a month at a minimum. The way to permanently solve this is to disable this portion of the system.
You will need to take the dash off ( it is not as hard as it seems) It is held in place with a variety of bolts, screws, and clips. You can do a web search for dash removal to try and find the exact configuration. Once the dash is out under the steering column there is a metal plate. It needs to come out also (held in place by a few bolts. Once this is removed you will have clear access to the underneath part of the steering column. Coming up the steering column you will see (3) wires grouped together. (Yellow, Black, and White). They will either be tied or taped together. The only one you need to concern yourself with is the yellow one. This is the most important step. (1) Start the car! (2) While the car is started snip the yellow wire, making sure it does not contact any metal. (3) using electrical tape or something similar cap off the ends and tie it off if you wish. (4) Turn off the car, put the plate back on, the dash back together and problem solved!. The yellow or orange security light will stay permanently illuminated, but it is not a problem. I did this on my Impala which I inherited 10 months ago and have never had this problem again. You can take the bulb out of the instrument cluster to for the security light but it is a lot of trouble and not worth the effort. Hope this helps..

SOURCE: Problem with 2006 Chevrolet Impala --Windshield washer fluid

Sounds like the fuse blew out again. Look at the wiring that goes to the washer fluid pump and check for any place where it might have rubbed against something causing it to short out. Fix this 'short' before you replace the fuse again or you will continue to have problems.

SOURCE: 2003 Impala: HOW DO I CHANGE BATTERY 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA...

The battery is under the hood, just behind the passenger headlight.
There is a black bar that crosses over the battery and goes back towards strut tower. Remove this bar and the three bolts; probably a 12 or 13mm socket.
Remove the negative (black) battery cable with an 8mm socket or wrench. A 5/16" should work also.
Then remove the positive (red) cable with same socket.
Remove the battery clamp and bolt. Probably a 12mm socket with extension.
It's tight, but the battery can be removed.
Reverse instructions for installing the battery. (That includes hooking up the red battery cable first, then the black cable.)

1984 dodge wont start has new battery can turn the key but wont do nothing

Question are you sure battery is charged ? Do this turn on head light`s to see if they work first. If they don't check that you put the battery cables on the correct post ( Red to the hot and black to negative post ) and make sure they are tight . If they are on correct you may have a bad starter. Did you change the battery because it was bad are because it would not start the car ? If every thing else worked before you replaced battery like head lights and stuff you may of just had a bad starter to begin with. Good luck

New battery In mercedes no power

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

2006 new beetle tdi wont start or try to turn over. Gage lights come on. It started by taking a couple of cranks before it started. Now nothing.

have the battery load tested as it appears that there is a dead cell . Lights will work but when there is a hugh current flow the battery chucks it in . Check that the battery posts and terminals are shiny clean and tight.

1990 Buick Century Limited 6cly wont start turn over or crank

Usually if the battery is dead, you will hear clicking. If the battery is good then I would check any Starter fuses/relays. If they are good then I would check for power to the starter solenoid. You can find many youtube videos on how to check this.

Battery light came on and car wont start now when i shut it off

will engine crank?? if not, recheck battery cable connections. if vehicle ran until shut off, tells me that your charging system kept vehicle running until vehicle was shut off. alternator light can be related to faulty alternator and or bad battery.

My voyager wont start it seems the alarm has stuck on , when i turn key nothing new battery fitted ,led light for alarm does not flash anymore /gear/milage lights do not come on ,i have taken battery off...

This may sound a bit simple but check the starter solenoid function by running an external wire to the thin wire terminal from the positive post on the battery.

If the starter does nothing then the starter is bad.

What your describing is a typical solenoid / starter problem. Given the car is now 10 year old, it is quite possible that either the solenoid or starter has failed.

How do I replace the starter in a 2003 Corolla? Over the past few days, my car was taking a little longer to start than usual. At first I thought it was the battery going on me. Yesterday my car wouldn't...

Hmmm. Don't be too hasty replacing the starter. With no exterior lights working it suggests an open circuit in the system that could relate to your starting problem. Start with your fuses that are related to lighting and starting. Check connections for corrosion and rust.
