SOURCE: Cruise control not working

there are 2 possible parts here, one is a transmission speed sensor, this part tells the cruise what speed u set and keep it there, the other is the the actual actuator that holds the throttle at the right position to maintain set speed, other less common issue's make sure the brake and clutch (if manual trans only) cruise cut off switche's are ok

SOURCE: 1992 honda prelude s (vti) why does the aircon

First possible solution: On many Hondas the AC button will only light when you slide the blower fan on. (The right slider knob on a 92 Prelude)

The second solution: When you notice your AC button NOT lighting, pay attention to see if your vent selector buttons actually switch your air direction from floor to face to defrost, etc. Also, take not to see if they fail to light also. If the other buttons don't light, you may have to pull out and disassemble your climate control cluster to actually "re-solder" the terminals on the GREEN PLUG receptacle back on to the circuit board. It's a difficult task to get out and in but if you're very careful, nothing gets broke. I have done this repair recently to a Prelude and it worked. There is not enough reinforcement on the board for this plug and it wiggles enough to cause a cold solder (broken connection).

SOURCE: 2005 Honda Accord 4cyl cruise control does not work

check all your fuses first then take a look at the brake switch and there is a criuse cancel switch also, i think there may be a problem with the switch, even if the cancel switch was bad i think the power would still stay on but cruise would just stop and power would stay on. check fuses and switches anyway to be sure then take a look at the power switch.

You didn't say if it would start. If it will not start, it is a dead battery.

What causes my cruise controll to not work intermittenly

cruise control starts working above 50kmh, so if your under that it wont work. the cruise servo may be at fault, or I have seen battery acid leak down on the vacuum lines causing cruise not to work correctly. cruise control works off of a vacuum so without it, it wont work. if the cruise light doesn't turn on when pressing the set/cruise button intermitantly it may be the switch itself that is starting to fail

Ford focus cruise control

Once you have turned your cruise control on accelerate to desired speed press SET button on right hand side of steering wheel before lifting foot from accelerator, then remove foot from accelerator. pushing RESUME button will deactivate cruise control without turning it off. Then when clear of traffic push resume again to activate cruise control. It will automatically resume to previous set speed.

1995 Accord Intermittent Cruise Control

In response to the request from "emissionwiz" for more clarification of the problem:
This same 1995 Honda Accord was stolen in Atlanta, GA in 2006 and trashed. It was recovered the next day and held 4 days before I got postcard in mail to come pick it up. The battery was dead and the gas tank empty and lots of damage. The insurance made it right including putting a new battery. Two years later, a month before the replacement battery warranty ran out, the battery went dead. The dealer, Nalley Honda replaced the dead battery to satisfy the battery warranty free of charge. Never having had Cruise Control problems before, the Cruise Control failed within minutes after leaving the dealer, Nalley Honda. The Cruise Control only works to maintain speed approximately 20% of the time after the battery swap. What could have been damaged and caused the Cruise Control to fail intermittently ? I can not just ignore this problem because I need the Cruise Control. The digital multimeter I use might be of some help locating the trouble. Maybe you could point me in the right direction so I can hem this in. I read specifications if a wiring diagram is available. As stated before, all indications from the instrument panel tell me the Cruise Control is ON.

Weird happenings

your brake lights are on a live switch , they will go on when the key is off. so if they are on, your battery will eventually go dead.
now on the pedal there is a switch so when you push the brake the light is activated and so is the actual brake. Check and make sure it is still near the pedal top and can be activated with the pedal down .some are reverse switched down is not making contact and so is tripped and others is brake pedal arm is down toching the button depressing it and making contact. contact your local parts store see what parts they have for your make and model. DONT BUY anything. just see how you switch is suppose to work then you'll know how to test it. if your not sure even call them or any parts store and ask how to test them . they love to share information. which makes them even more valued. Your Cruise wont work because of your brake switch deal. it thinks that you on the brake. Good thing too. Going down the highway cruise on....tap brakes and cruise keeps right on going. that would be very bad. Nothing to do with the battery. just that its a casuality of the brake issue.

Cruise control on 99 taurus

check your on and off button at the steering wheel.
use a multi-meter set in the ohm postion and see if there is conectivity as you push each button. you will have to take the button off the steering wheel but it will take
just a few minites. while your at it you can check the right side also.
the set-resume-coast.
