Question about Ford Cars & Trucks

Ford Thunderbird Problems

First it was just the passenger window would not go down, we figured out that I can manually push and pull that window up and down. But now my drivers side window will not go up or down and makes no motor sounds at all. All I want to be able to do is put my windows up and down. Is that asking too much?

SOURCE: passenger side power window does not go down

Electric window motor seized. Those motors have internal copper brushes that usually lock after time. Some times a quik test is to get to the motor and tap it with a wrench while pressing the switch to get it unseized. ( Not a fix ! ... still needs replaced ).

SOURCE: driver side door window wont go down it sounds

CLICKING GRINDING SOUNDS... THE WINDOW MOTOR ASSY IS BAD.. THE GEAR CAMS ARE GONE... CHEAPEST WAY IS TO REMOVE THE MOTOR AND REMOVE THE PLATE THAT COVERS THE GEAR HOUSING..GO TO ADVANCE AUTO AND FIND THE GEAR CAM KIT....THEY DO SELL IT IF YOU GET A LAZY PERSON BEHIND THE COUNTER THATS DOES NOT WANT TO LOOK FOR IT..IT SHOULD BE 3 PIECES THAT JUST SIT INTO THE SLOTS .. YOU WILL SEE HOW IT GOES

Remove the door panel, remove the window trim, remove the window regulator, Remove the window frame(push down ,then pull out from the top), Remove the broken glass from the seal, install window. Put back together in reverse order. You will need a Phillips screw driver, a drill and 1/4 bit, a 10 MM wrench or socket, 1/4 rivets X 1/2 inch long and rivet gun that handles up to 1/4 inch rivets.

2002 thunderbird window won't go up or down replace swith still wont work fuse are ok does the switch get power

The master switch connector does have circuits that have power on them. The Master switch is not directly connected to the window motors. The switch sends a signal to the Front Electronic Module and the module controls operation of the motor on the driver side. The passenger door window motor is controlled by a different module

they are held in place with plastic push clips and simply remove the screws for the door handle inside the car as well as the window wires by popping out the panel and pull up from the bottom and remove just that way re-installation is reverse procedure you may need to use a pair of side cutters to remove any plastic clips that did not pop off with the panel and reinsert them into the proper holes

Pop off the red reflector on bottom. Remove screw that's there. Pry off inside part where power lock, window and mirror buttons are, starting away from inside handle. 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX (lights on outside of trunk) The brake lights and turn signials work and the left side of the trunk lights up but the right side dosen't and I can't figure out where the bulb is to...

The housing for the bulb is behind the cover. You will need to remove the screws (sometimes just push in clips that can be pulled out) and pull this cover off. At this point you should be able to see the wires going to the bulb/housing.
