Question about 1998 Mazda 626
So from what I've read I'm thinking it could be the distributor. It's making a buzzing noise after I try to start my car. I've hooked my battery up to someone else's car and still wouldn't start. The engine is making a drumming noise and the car is turning over but it's have a problem catching and starting the engine like it should. It's been sitting in my driveway for two months since it broke down on the side of the road. It was steaming out of the front of the car when it broke down. I've done a fair amount of research and I haven't found a whole lot that is going to help me. I just need to get this thing started soon. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the Fuel injection system (injectors) and the intake manifold. It might also be wise to check the alternator as well as the starter coil and also the electronic distributor

If I am understanding you correctly you are saying that the starter turns sometimes and the engine does not, if this is the case the problem is the startr drive inside of the starter. If you are mechanically inclined this is alot cheaper to repair then replacing the starter. Good luck and remember to rate all the solutions you get, thanx.

Last week my 323 89' Mazda stop working as I was driving it in middle of the street, I pushed to the side. it would not start, the starter sounded ok, but the car just didnt start, I checked the fuses, gas pump, and all seemed to be ok, finally with the help of a friend we found out that the ignition rotor at the distributor wasnt working we then replace it with a new one from autozone , is about 5 dollars, now it works just fine, big problem easy solution.
