Question about 2000 Chevrolet Impala

Head lilghts only come on in the day, not at night. Only my parking (amber) lights come on.

During the day, those are your DRT(daytime running lights). Which says to me, your lights work. Check your headlight switch.

IF you have an automatic head light module (Day night operation) check that the power when in the night mode is getting to the display. It may have it's own light sensor that turns on the display light and if so it may be faulty as well.

okay,the bulbs are amber for the turn signals.
the parking lights actuate by turning off the ignition and moving the indicator arm left.right.(not all markets)

first thing to do is check all your grounds batt. to engine batt. to body batt. to frame then have someone scan the bcm body controll module that operates the headlights ,int.lights, doorlocks, ect.

Bright lights pop on when car is parked


you need to replace the turn signal switch,its loose and making contact when it should not,,causing the headlamps to come on,replace the switch,,like $50 for the new part,not too hard to install

Sounds like you might have a grounding issue. Start by checking behind the dash for proper grounding of your dash lilghts
