The valve is located inside the intake.. Good news is intake can be removed as one whole piece. Once you get the intake off its a simple process. Whole job is less than 2 hours

Hello I have a 94 GMC s15 Jimmy it sputters on take off then at fiftymph it snaps back to life very bad smell of gas out of exhaust replaced plugs cap rotor fuel pressure regulator tempsens tps spider

Try changing the EGR valve. If the EGR valve sticks open you will get hesitation and stumble/stall along with extremely rich fuel mixture.

Does a 1996 chevy s10 pickup 4.3 vortec have a saftey cut off that will stop the fuel from getting into the spider injectors

Sorry there is no safety valve or switch. Only Ford products use an inertia switch.
Have you checked for power and ground at the injector connector ?

Truck runs rough

In the distributor is a cam sensor, the dist must come out and apart to fix it. When you replaced the injector assembly did you replace the fuel press regulator also? If not I would do that first.

My 97 chevy astro wont start when cold but well when i spray starting fluid in the intake ive changed every thing in the fuel system including the pump

what is the fuel pressure with key on and engine off? since you mentioned spider injector assembly it has to be a vortec engine that requires 55psi to open the poppet valve in the injectors just to start.

Just had to replace the fuel injector spider at 82,000 mi. because 1 of 6 injectors failed. this was a part that cost more than $400.00 plus installation. insane engineering that cost me , the consumer ,...

YOU HAVE CPI ( CENTRIAL PORT INJECTION ) TO CHANGE YOU NEED TO REMOVE UPPER INTAKE AND A LOT OF PARTS TO GET AT INJECTOR, NOT AN EASY REPAIR. INJECTOR SPINS IN HOUSING TO FEED ALL POPET VALVES (SPIDER LEGS) TO BRING FUEL TO CYLINDERS. USE LUCAS FUEL TREATMENT TO CLEAN AND LUB SYSTEM INCLUDING FUEL PUMP TO INCREASE LIFE OF SYSTEM.

4.3 L engine crank position sensor is located on passenger side bottom of timing cover. plug should be around the front of the intake manifold.

Silverado not starting unless prime

There is a check valve in the fuel pump that sounds like it may have gone bad. Check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve, there should be 60 to 65psi during the prime and will drop 5 psi when the engine is running. Once the fuel line is primed, check to see how fast you lose your prime. Since you replaced your injection system, we can eliminate the fuel pressure regulator leaking which was common on the injection system your truck run's on. If the fuel pressure drops fast then it's going to be a bad check valve at the fuel pump and it may be time to replace the fuel pump it self. Good luck and hope this helps. Note: do not try to start the engine with putting gas through the throttle body, it's been know for small fires to start and burn the spider injectors.

Truck won't stay running

Check the fuel pressure at the Shredder Valve, You should have 60PSI to 65PSI upon start and should drop about 5PSI when running. If your fuel pressure is good then it may be a bad injector system. The fuel injector spider system that the vortec has are know to go bad, from the fuel pressure regulator to the puppet fuel valves. Change the fuel filter first if it has not been changed yet and have the fuel pressure check. Good luck and keep me posed. Note: it's been know that spraying ether to start the vortec with the spider injector system has got the puppet valves to catch fire and melt the ends of the puppet valve leading to the replacement to the whole system. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.
