Easy one, plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and possibly plug wires if they are cracked or broken or even corroded on the ends . Top it off w\fuel injector cleaner for the tank, this should cost around a 100 bucks, good oil change wouldn't hurt either when you can get done, those are good trucks and should run forever...

What should a complete tune-up with new hoses cost for a 2005 Buick La Sabre?

No...your BiL is OOHM (out of his mind) if he thinks they're comparable.

A tune-up shouldn't cost more than $200 - but depends on what all is being done.

What all does his 'tune-up' include? What are the hoses for?

Sell the F150 yourself.... even w/high miles it's worth $$. Go to KBB.COM and look up the Private Party value. Probably $5,000+

Hi, Did you use Motorcraft tune-up parts or el-cheapos? If the latter than you cap/rotor may be bad. There is likely a code 'stored' in the truck's computer. See the attached video on how to read them.
