My 98 ford escort check coolant light is on a nd it sounds like the motor is still running when i turn it off

An engine that stays running "dieseling" after you turn off the key would be running hot. Check the coolant level in the overflow bottle when the car is cold and top it up. You will likely have to do this more than once to get the level back to where it should be, so check it for a few days and top up as until it stays full. Hope this helps.

I need to know how to go about fixing the coolant fan to the radiator in a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria to keep my car from overheating every week.

The coolant fan run on its own when the temperature crosses a certain predetermined level. This is triggered by the relay. And it runs even after the engine stops till the temperature reaches the lower level. So, there is very little we can do about it. If we run it continuously then the fan will get burnt.

The car is overheating when coming to stop, if I put the car in neutral while I am in the stopped mode the temperature will drop somewhat. The fans are working okay. Which is the pulley to release...

The pulley that releases tension is on the passenger side and has a 1/2" square breaker bar hole to put a 1/2" breaker bar (2 feet long) into that you can get from Sears or an auto parts store that sells tools.

I would check the fluid level in the overflow tank to make sure there is enough coolant in the system.

Then, I would consider having it flushed and filled with new coolant.

I would check for slow leaks out of the water pump area on the passenger's side. There is an oil and coolant cover gasket on the side of the engine that sometimes leaks in the vicinity of the water pump.

We have a 1998 Ford Taurus that had this problem, and it took a few hundred dollars to fix the leak.

My daughter has a high mileage Ford Escort (115K). She reports the following 2 issues: 1) approx. every 3000 miles, her coolant warning light appears and we have to add coolant. Where are we losing that...

1.) coolant loss is NOT normal
most likely you are burning it because of a bad head gasket

2.) thats a tough guess is that the concern is evap related and it isn't a problem when the tank is full because the tank is full. However, you'd have to have some tet equipment installed to get a good idea for diagnoses

1998 Ford E-350 Rear Heat Issue....

You should check the coolant level as it might be a low and only have enough for the front system, if that is not the case then the hoses to the rear of the vehicle may be plugged or the rear heater core itself may be plugged not allowing warm coolant to circulate for the rear heat system.

Ord galaxy 1998 tdi 110 radiator over heating but

you need to flush the radiator out.
With the engine cold, remove coolant bottle cap to release pressure.
Drain engine coolant from drain plug on radiator.
With the drain plug removed disconnect the highest hose connected to a radiator.
use an hosepipe and put it in place of the disconnected radiator pipe.
turn on the water to the hose pipe and let it flush out any sludge accumulated in the radiator. after a few minutes turn off water supply, reconnect radiator hose and drain plug and refil using recommended coolant mix for your galaxy (purchased at most autofactors and garages).
Also check your thermostat as if this is faulty it would stop the flow of coolant running around your engine.

hope this helps

I get an intermittent "Coolant Sensor Bad" The FSM is clear, Bad mean the line to the coolant bottle switch is open.

The coolant sensor and the coolant level sensor are two different sensors. Your message center is showing (coolant sensor bad),not level sensor bad.
The level sensor only monitors the amount of coolant in the container
The coolant sensor senses the degrees of the coolant, which turns on the electric cooling fans. Change the coolant sensor, and the problem should go away.

Ford galaxy 1996 v6 ghia x warning light at temp gauge flashes all the time

If this is a red flashing light beneath the temperature guage it means that you do not have enough coolant. Top up the large white ball shaped reservior at the right hand side of the engine compartment just behind the battery.

1998 Ford Explorer 4.0 Engine runs from warm to hot but only when A/C, which happens to blow cold is on. Changed fan clutch but still the same problem. Engine temp goes back to normal when A/C is off.

Check your R coolant level. Also if there was ever anti leak or lubricant added this may put an extra load on compressor. If the system has appropriate coolant level and is not loaded with fluids then your compressor may be wearing out.
