That ticking noise you hear is an HVAC actuator that has failed. It is a small motor with a plastic gear and the gear has stripped causing it not to open/close as it should.

That is something in the Blower housing on the interior. I had this same problem on my 2000 Neon. Turned out to be a piece of vent hose that wasn't trimmed correctly.

I would start by making sure the emergency break away switch has the plunger in it and it's working properly. If everything is OK with that then the 5 pin plug must be wired incorrectly. If you only tow the trailer with that truck I would suggest changing to a seven pin connector on the trailer. It would appear you also have a problem with the left trailer brake. They should work together.

SOURCE: ticking noise on passenger side
what kind of ticking noise, try checking belts and belt surrounds or alternator pulley wheel not bent. is noise top or bottom. if top ??? ( just hope no ones left a nut etc in cam case )
