SOURCE: wont start

Hi Custerd8t,

I'm sure you checked the terminals were clean and tight.
From your description, the symptoms still point to the battery(s).
Extreme temperatures can have a negative effect on them.

Question: Do you have a dual battery setup? You mentioned Batteries.

While a battery may read +12VDC on a volt meter, it's ability to deliver enough Cold Cranking Amps to turn the engine has been reduced. This is sometimes referred to as a 'Surface Charge'. It has the voltage of a fully charged battery, but not the performance of one.

But no one likes guessing games. Here's how to either confirm or rule out the battery as a problem.
It's called 'Load Test'. It tests the voltage under a simulated load, like turning the engine.

Most battery or auto parts stores will do the test for you for free.
Even though it works during the day after you get it jumped, the Load Test would still read as 'marginal' rather than 'good' if there is a problem.

At the same time, have them test the voltage while the engine is running to check the alternators charging capacity.

If the battery fails the load test, the acid level may be low. I don't know the type you have. If it's not the sealed type, it may be fixable. Otherwise, replacement would be necessary.

At this point I've stacked up three or four 'If's'. Let's see what the Load Test says. Get back to me with the results, we can proceed from there.

Good luck,
Mike

Yes, you must have the remote start reprogrammed, probably can only be done at dealership if factory or by the installer if aftermarket.

under the dash on drivers side you will find the remote starter controller, just unplug it and everything should still work fine. You might also find a fuse and you can just pull that out of the harness of the starter controller

Beep does not sounds when locking

Very possible. Each lock has to fully complete it's movement in order to send an "all lock" signal to transceiver. If not, you may wake to a dead battery as the alarm retries the last command to lock repeatedly.

Won't start without a jump even with new battery

Normally a new battery would require at least 8 hours of continuous charging before it can take the full load of a vehicles lighting, starting motor etc...So please ensure that the new battery gets fully charged (ideally leave it charging for about 16 hours). I am not an expert on vehicles but I now this is how batteries (especially new batteries work). You would require a proper battery charge for this job because you cannot leave a another vehicle running with jump leads for this that long. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you may have a cable issue. You should have two positive cables one supplying power to starter and one powering vehicle. if the starter power wire is not getting good connection but other is then it will only click. check this wire for corrosion inside cable
