SOURCE: 2004 chevrolet trilblazer

There is a plate underneath the engine that is held in by 2 flat head screws. All you have to do is loosen both screws and slide the plate around. The plate just slides around. The drain plug and oil filter are then exposed and easily accessable. The 2004 Trailblazer takes 7 quarts of oil and uses an ACDelco PF61 or Fram PH3675 oil filter. I've read in this FAQ site some info about other filters, so I went down to the local Chevy dealer and talked to a mechanic. He told me the ACDelco PF61 was the correct filter. The Fram PH3675 is the exact same as the PF61.

SOURCE: 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS ,supercharger maintenance 2.0L five spee

I use 5W30 Mobile 1 synthetic-5 quarts.

The air filter change is a real pain.
Remove driver side tire.
Remove driver side wheel well.
You will see the filter canister in the front of the wheel well.

I had a mechanic do it for me and it took him 1.5 hours. If you plan to do it yourself, be sure you have plenty of time and alot of patience.

Remove the engine cover on a 2008 holden captiva?

not sure if you have answer to your oil filter. Diesel looking from front of vehicle left corner rear of engine , cover removed. 27 mm socket required . care taken awkward to remove oil will spill grab it with a piece of rag moving it down and under filter as it is removed. advise to suck out oil from lower filter body before refitting filter or oil will rise as filter is fitted and will spill over . Please also be aware which groove you remove the old oil ring from so as to fit a new o ring into the correct groove.

the amount of oil to refill the sump will be the regular amount plus 1/2 pint for the new filter. You will need to know the sump capacity ( from a owners hand book for your engine)

Cant figure out oil leak on 96 jimmy oil .seems to be by the filter but not filter and where lines by oilfilter go to engine maybe???????????

Clean the area of any oil/ dirt. Remove oil filter and check only one round seal. Sometimes when filters changed the original seal can be left on. Replace and tighten filter and start engine. Have a light handy and watch the area for any leaks.

1986 Camaro 2.8eng has a bad oil leak coming looks like from above the oilfilter,

Have you recently had an oil and filter change? Its possible the old "o"ring seal for the old filter got
left stuck in place. I've seen this before and when the new filter is installed the new seal does'nt make a good seal.
If there was'nt a recent oil change, check the valve cover gaskets and the oil pressure sending
unit. I had one crack and start leaking once, it just about drove me crazy before I found it.
Hope this helps.

Blows oil seal around oilfilter

check to make sure that there isnt an old seal from the previous oil filter still stuck on the oil pump as this will cause oil to leak at that point.
If that is not the case then maybe your engine is pressurising

Oilfilter

You didn't post the size of motor but once you drop the skid plate, you will see it.

The oil filter is under the engine skid plate. You need to remove the trap door to see.
The skid plate door is located by the drivers side door, directly midway underneath the vehicle. You will need a flat or Phillips-hear srewdriver to open the trap door. Don't worry, the screws are 'loss-proof' and will not fall off the trap door plate. Once this has been removed, the oil drain plug and oil filter are now visible and accessable (how smart is that!) Typical oil change and oil filter replacement time = 15-20 mins. for a familiar shadetree. p.s. The Inline 6 (24 valve - 4.2L) takes 7 quarts of oil. Good luck!
