i have two suggestions, what it sounds like is u have a sticky lifter, add some engine oil flush to ur oil, if u cant find any i usually just drain out some of my oil and add a half to a full quart of ****** fluid, take it out and drive it for a little bit let it warm up and circulated all the ****** fluid though the engine and run it for at least 20 mins. then drain all the oil and do a oil change but add a quart of lucas engine oil treatment with it let it run through and do some work if this doesnt fix it u may have to replace the lifter

My oil has instantly stopped circulating, is there an oil pump relay or fuse and if so which one is it? I do not have an owners manual. If it is the oil pump does the motor have to come out to replace?

Are you sure no oil is circulating? If your oil gauge shows no pressure it could be the gauge or sending unit that isn't working. If no oil is circulating your engine will probably not start, since the valve lifters operate on oil pressure. If it does start it will make a lot of noise as the valves and lifters slam against the cam shaft. The oil pump works directly off of gears built into the engine. It is possible to shear the brass gear off the pump. This doesn't happen very often. Another possiblity is that the screen in the oil sump tank is completly stopped up and thus prevented the oil pump from sucking up the oil.

96 nissan altima with ne water pump and thermostat

1. Improper water circulation: Sometimes, eventhough you are sure that you have enough water on your radiator, your car still overheats. It might probably be that the water is cannot circulate properly, which results to improper cooling process. There are several reasons for this which you can discover by yourself. To verify if the water circulates properly, start your engine without the radiator cap. If water circulation is good, you should notice that the water pops smoothly over the top but still retains the amount. Another way to check, detach one of the ends of your radiator hose from your radiator and see if water flows continously over.
If water doesn’t circulates well, check the thermostat if it’s open. It should be open, meaning clean, and the water can pass through it.
If thermostat is clean and still the water doesn’t circulate properly, then you have to check the water pump. That’s probably where the problem is. A little leak on the pump will cause improper flow of water through the radiator system.
If you are sure that the problem is not about water circulation, another thing you can consider is check the engine oil. Very low amount of oil can cause greater friction of the mechanical system of your engine. If it’s not time to change oil yet, you can add over some amount of oil until advisable amount is reached.
While we can’t be always sure about our engine, especially if it’s not new, we should be prepared when it happens. Bringing extra gallon of water in your trunk will surely help.

How do i solve a tapping problem for mazda mx3

Hi. If you don't change your oil regularly, this will cause the build up of sludge deposits that will cause poor oil circulation overtime. this poor circulation will prevent normal lubrication to the more vital parts of the internal engine structure. This tart like substance will also cause the lifters to stick as well during run time, causing the tapping. I recommend a engine flush asap. this may flush out the sludge if its not seriously baked onto the block inside the engine compartment. The valve train valley has small oil holes that can be plugged by this sludge build up as well. this is a more serious issue, and it will require a total block replacement procedure if this is the case.

Replaced AC Condenser and Evacuated System.. Holds negative pressure but when adding the freon after the oil all the freon doesnt seem to empty out of the can. And noticed that the Compressor hasnt...

compressor needs time to circulate the refrigerant and for the refrigernt to heat up and cycle through the low pressure hi pressure side compressor will kick on and off and the only thing you will notice is the rpms or load on the vehicle will increase

Car cuts off when started. oil not circulating in engine.

if oil is not going through engine than it is either the oil holes are plugged, or a bad oil pump in oil pan. if the pump goes bad it will not pump any oil.

My oil is a thick paste

could be. the oils should not be like a thick paste. what is the color?

if it is black, then it is ok but if it is grayish in color, then it is already mixed with water.
that is a major problem. water and oil should not mix.

could be a broken head gasket.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Oil ligth

It can be either electrical short or mechanical trouble.  Have the oil pressure test done on the car at two different sites - one in the engine block near the valve cover and another in the top of oil filter housing.  If the pressure is in the normal range, then it's electrical short.  If it isn't in the normal range, it is either something is blocking the oil from circulating or needs bearing replacement.

A quick (but not accurate) test would be to have the car running and check the oil level.  If the oil level remains constant, then the oil might not be circulating (which is why manuals often say check the oil when the engine is not running).  Be careful not to drive it if it looks like that the oil isn't circulating because it could lead to serious damage (in other words, engine rebuilding with bearing replacement).
