Hey Steve, if you need a jump to start it then every thing is working except battery holding power try putting battery on a SLOW charge for a day then try again when its running check output of altinator with a fully charged battery it should be 12.5-13.5 volts and rise when you rev motor up ,when you jump it im thinking the battery is very low and the altinator is trying to recharge battery and it cant do that in just a few minutes running time or take it on along ride and watch amp gauge .good luck Steve.

Engine dragging when starting now won't start at all

Most likely something to do with the starter or the wiring associated with it. (possible bad ground). Get it up on a lift and look at the wiring coming from the starter and tracing it to the harness. Make sure all insulation is in good shape, no exposed wiring. Check your grounds. The starter itself could have an issue also.

What causes low voltage on a f-150 xl

You might want to check the main grounds for the truck. Even if they look good to the eye, If there is rust or paint blocking a good ground, then the resistance will go up for the ground and voltages can be thrown off. What exactly are you getting low voltage to?

Hi,my jetta battery light came on then it died so i put new battery in started fine but ran for only a few minutes and everything started to dim(lights, displays)then it just shut down.waited a few minutes...

sounds like your alternator is not charging the battery. with vehicle running take measure the voltage of the battery f it is higher then 13volts it is charging. if you do not have a volt meter remove the ground cable while the vehicle is running and the vehicle should stay running.

My 1998 explorer occasionally will not turn over; the battery, starter and alternator check out fine...if I stop and start the car repeatedly within a few minutes of each other, I am sure to get stuck...

Yes Metal expands when it gets hot . Check the ground wire that goes to the fire wall to the engine to battery make sure all starter connections and any grounds you see on the fire wall are clean and tight.
Please leave me a good feedback on here.
