You need to replace the blower resistor...90 percent of the time that will be the problem in your situation...before replacing it..check for power to blower motor first...if it has power then replace blower motor if not its the resistor

SOURCE: 1995 explorer heater/ac blower motor

I would check to see if there is a short on the fan controller switch and the motor. sounds like a crossed wire, especially if it's ignoring your speed selection and running when the key is out. could be near the fuse box under the dash. the cig lighter circuit is live all the time as well as a couple others, it maybe crossing with it. I would pull the fuse panels assem down and check for crosses and shorts.

I own a 2002 crown vic my radio works but the clock on it stopped working also the heater / ac fan will not come on no matter what i try the motor wont speed up i have checked all fuses but have not dug...

if the fan runs on only one speed, its the blower motor relay.

the clock shouldn't be on the same circuit as the fan, I dunno on that one, but there is a relay for the fan.

Yes it is your blower motor that is going bad, eventually if not fixed then it will stop blowing all together.

How to remove the heater core in 1998 crown vic?

The heater core is under the dash on the right side, behind the glove box and the fan, and it is a bear to get out. Why do you have to remove it??? Also it is not like the old days, this one has the ac unit stuffed in there with it, all the heater lines on the engine side need to be removed, and possibly the ac lines.
