U need to enter the radio security, it was in the original owners paper work that came with the truck. if you don't have this code u will need to contact the dealer

if you are looking to put a new stero in the best thing to do is go to radio shack or the parts house and spend 5 or 10 dollars and get a wiring adapter. You can wire the thing in your house all the colors are the same and then you just walk out to your car plug it in and go. It is worth the money it is pretty cheap anyway.

SOURCE: 05 Ford F150 Radio doesn't work.
it needs to be programed to your vehicle. we have to program every replacement radio we install at the dealership. only takes a few mins.
