2004 ford taurus dohc doesnt want to idle when cold and when warm at stop signs after driving for awhile it acts up like its flooding out. it will idle warm

Sounds like an O2 sensor, however you might try cleaning the MAF sensor in the air intake hose with carb cleaner (blow it out after spraying it and put it back in). MAF sensors are expensive and you can clean them with spray cleaner or starting fluid and usually not have to buy one. O2 sensors are cheaper and won't cleanup using this procedure.

Carb set up

more information. was the carb removed from the car, when you say clean, was it taken apart. float/needle valves/etc. flooding is usually caused by the needle valve not properly reseating when the bowl is filled. how do you know that the carb is flooding.

My 1983 Nissan Sentra stalls while driving

Possibly. Open up carb and remove float to make sure that it does float. If they get a hold in them they will fill with gas and flooding exists. Also clean out with carb cleaner paying close attention to the needle and seat valve connected to float. They too can be the cauue of a flooding condition.

My 1986 GMC Vandura With a 305 and rochester Q Jet Idles Rich and after it warms up looses power and floods out stalling where ever it feels like. Please Help,

Possibly a hole in the float . ( carburator) You'll have to take the carb apart and remove the float. Shake it and see if there is gas in it. If it's not a brass float, you may just need to adjust it, and clean the carb.

1982 honda sitting for a year started at first now carb is flooding - any suggestions?

fairly typical... the "float" gets soaked
the fix is to disassemble the carb and replace the float

Rough idle, condensation comes from tailpipe when cranked. black smoke, and carb.floods with gas . seems to quit when its gets warmed up and then sometimes it dont.

I don't know the year model, if older carb, sounds like stuck choke, bad choke pull off or bad needle and seat in carb. If newer model, computer staying in closed loop, bad temperature sensor.

Flooding,black smoke,run hard,choke sticking

The first thing i would look at here is the choke pull. Make sure that after the car starts, the choke props open. Also, as the engine warms, make sure the electric choke is opening up. If not, make sure you have 12V to the choke. If so, replace it. This should solve the problem.

But let me know if you need any further assistance, ok? We'll get it working! :)

Toyota 22r starts hard and floods. Repalced

It sounds like the carb. float is set to high and /or the needle and seat has some dirt in it allowing to much fuel inside the carb.. This will allow to much fuel into the engine. It seems the carb could use a rebuild and dont forget to replace your fuel filter.I hope this helps.
